I have been thinking. What is the point of PR for Arma2, PR for Bf2 and now PR:Vietnam. The original is great and if we have 3 games, the few players that we have will be spread out so the server population will be (technically) a third! Why dont we have the PR vietnam maps put on the original PR to have a higher population on the servers?

PR:BF2 and PR:ArmA will be quite different gameplay styles. ArmA is not for everyone so should not split the community.

My guess is people will just play all of them, we will gain player base (mainly on ArmA side) and all will be fine :D

PR:ArmA2 will attract both PR:BF2 and "vanilla" ArmA2 players - overall playerbase will grow.

PR:Vietnam will attract both PR players as well as "interested in vietnam-games" players - overall playerbase will grow.

Whether PR:V will be in PR or available as an "add-on" (like PR:SP was setup before v0.9), then still it won't split up the playerbase.

Sure, people have their preferences, but it won't split anything really. Consider PR:V like a community faction. Do they split up the community? Not really. Did PR:SP split up the community, when SP was an "add-on"? Nope.

Etc.

And yes, what CroCop is pointing to.

From what I've heard, PR is still the most played BF2 mod, Adding Vietnam is going to increase that number if anything.

As for Arma2, it's going to be completely different. It's a whole different game engine with a different style of play. It's only going to widen PRs appeal to a broader mix of players.

Most PR players I know that like Arma2 play both fairly often. PR:BF2 is still undergoing development, so new aspects of the mod will always attract new players even though BF2 is ancient now.
