Scopes for Medics?

Anyone know if US, UK, Rus, MEC, and Chinese will get a scope option in the future of PR for their medics? ? ?

The new factions have them...I was wondering if they are going to keep it or not...

Canada wasn't fully finished, and their unscoped C7's will be coming soon. I am unaware of any other factions having scoped medics.

With the advent of back-up sights, however, I am hopeful that they might make an appearance.

well IDF with their optics and things like that... It would be nice to at least have a red dot on the medics or something.

No. Imagine a medic with an ACOG, scoped ability from afar and the ability to heal themselves and be saved if they get hit, it would be VERY overpowered.

They are meant to be leading the rear in a squad, ready to provide medical support in the event that someone gets hit, not to be providing primary fire with an Aimpoint or ACOG.

Don't know about you, but medics in general avoid trying to get into trouble when they have to serve as a squad medic, regardless of the optic they have.

I'm with you on that, no scopes for medics.

Yeah but not everyone in game usually plays by real life combat rules or even follows what the sq leader tells them, some dont even use mics. So many would use that to their advantage. They would OBVIOUSLY engage in a fire fight with an enemy that is like 200+ meters away and then heal with the huge amount of dressings. It just wouldnt be cool.

Well there you go, some people have different experiences but the consensus seems to be that its impractical and silly.

I wouldn't mind an aimpoint on the medic kit, especially the M16/M4. The ironsite on those two guns is HUGE, can't see a thing past it :\

Though i do agree there shouldn't be optical scopes on medics, the argument of "medics shouldn't fight, they should just sit in the corner and heal" is rubbish. If im leading a squad and defending or attacking im not going to tell my medic sit back and watch the show, im getting them to fire and actually attack the enemy.

But i do agree on (atleast US faction) medics getting red dots etc. I don't know how many times i've seen threads talking about red dots and someone has sourced US military all having atleast a red dot.

UK forces dont have a scope for their medics, instead they use a short stock version of the L85A2.

Ah scopes are rubbish anyway, I'd just like some aimpoints or something for the medic to be honest.

eh? Please source this as I believe you are incorrect the L22 is for crewmen afaik. afaik all UK forces are issued SA80s with SUSAT or ACOG scopes at this time, and I keep seeing pictures of backup holographic sights on top of the ACOGs.

Source comes from from a corporal in my training barracks in harrogate, they sometimes use the Short Stock because its lighter and the in most cases the highest chance of them using it is at CQB. Its because theyre the last resort to a soldier their first job is to treat wounds, then defend themselves.

Thanks for pointing out the name and yea they are used by the tank crews, its just sometimes used by some medics because theyre irrelevant in combat and the L85A2 can be used elsewhere by other infantry.
