The above IS a video that I made and loaded up, just showing the menu. It IS NOT NECESSESSARILY going to be the final menu layout. Some of the weapons are placeholders. The kit setups and layout are subject to change, etc.

They are WIP video(s), showing that the concept is working.

For those who do not know.. My screen name is also "Gunnie". I work on other mods too, besides, PR and PR:V..

You can find my handiwork in a number of mods, some of these are: My own mod.. Eve of Destruction. Other mods I have helped and still help: USI, 21CW, PR, FH2, OPK, BFK, BGF and Pirates are many of the mods I have worked upon at some point or continue to work upon and with. Some of these mods have released and some of them have not.

When I play Eve of Destruction.. I am known as TrahnLeeLiao or TrahnLee. In BF2, FH2 and sometimes when I play PR.. I am playing as Gunnie. Although, in PR.. I try to play as TrahnLee.

In anycase, anything you guys see right now, is WIP stuff and may not be representative of the final product.. (It can only get better.)

That map layout looks fantastic, seems very close quartered. I also look forward to seeing how battles go without the use of Long range scopes, just dueling it out with Iron sites.

Im also assuming that is not the final version of the m16?

That map's from EoD, and it's the exact opposite of PR gameplay, having combined arms in a 1 (or was it 2?) km map.

lol is there a single model where the soldier's sleeves are NOT ripped off?

also i'm hoping on new vegetation, higher bushes maybe, some mangroves maybe. jungles built up to be a LOT thicker than anything the BF franchise has ever seen before

WIP stands for Work In Progress.

They used 30 round mags in Vietnam, but not initially. When the M16 was deployed to the field, there were many, many shortcomings of the weapon that were not discovered in testing. Soldiers were not taught how to properly care for the weapon. In some cases, cleaning kits were even in short supply.

Some say the whole deployment of the M16 at the time was based largely on Washington and the political scene, along with cost. Initially, the M14 was a far superior weapon over the M16. In all aspects, other than weight and ease handling in the jungle enviroment. (The M14 was heavier and longer.) However, even the M14 had it shortcomings and was really a "interim" weapon for the military. (That's another story.)

The first M16's were pretty much **** and many soldiers were reluctant to trade in their M14's for the "Toy". In fact, the M16, due to the amount of plastic that was used on the weapon, earned itself the nickname, "Mattel Toy" by the troops. My Uncle told me that when he was issued his first M16.. He traded it back in and decided he would carry the M60 instead. (My uncle is not a big guy.) A decision that he said was a good one.. Yes, the M60 was heavy, but in the end.. He ended up earning several unit citations. (My uncle, mounted a scope on his M60 and sniped with it. He even had a bounty placed upon his head by the NVA. He still has a phamplet indicating this. That's also another story.. By the way, I have two Uncles who both served in Vietnam. One in the Army, one in the Marines.)

However, we are getting off track.. 20 round mags were the norm, but 30 round mags were eventually made available, they were just in short supply. In PR:V, you might find a few M16's with 30 rounds. However, these will probably be carried by the SL or Officers.

In 1968 we deployed with M16A1’s and 20 shot clips in which we were warned to only insert 18 rounds to prevent deforming the magazine springs. Nobody listened to this advice. Standard practice was to wrap two mags together with electrical tape so it was simple to flip. So you had 40 rounds on the weapon before you had to look for more mags. The Engineer battalion had .45 ACP, M60’s, M79’s, 3.5 rocket launcher or super bazooka, 105 recoilless rifles, 81 MM mortars. Light weight of M16 ammo compared to M14’s allowed everyone to carry extra and many had one of more bandoliers in addition to several magazines. 1st Cav site describes well how this worked Bandolier for the M-16 Rifle. The official magazine pouches were made of heavy stiff canvas that attached to the web belt. Use of the light cotton Bandoliers to carry magazines after the rounds as had been removed were as described more popular. Point is each solder may not have had 30 shot or larger clips but they had 5 or 600 rounds on them.

Out of curiosity would it be possible to use the Ironsights M16 model that the Hamas are using currently in regular PR?

Pretty sure the M16A1 was used in the Vietnam War, as was the M14..well, maybe not the scoped version.

Read the rest of the post and find out...the game is still WIP, and this video was from a few months ago so i would expect heavy changes when the final version comes out

Those M16's also jammed once per 2 mags pretty much.
