is there a plan to change the sounds of the helos in game? the only one that really sounds close to accurate is the huey. the 60 sounds horrid, its the vbf2 sound.

Apart from the huey I would agree they pretty much all suck, but sourcing and making such sounds is not an easy task...

ye, we simply dont have any better sounds to replace them with nor can we easily go out and recode chopper engine sounds either.

Just be 1337 sneaky and go into a US airbase. : D
Only joking. Maybe find similar / civilian versions of those helicopters and record that?

well i say this because im a USMC helo mech, i can get you samples of all of the USMC helos.
YouTube - 60fastrope.MOV navy 60, you could use this for the army blackhawk, sounds exactly the same.

Wow! OP delivers!
That was particularly fast turn around. I bet Jaymz could use the 2nd Cobra and Huey sounds as they have less wind noise. If I hear those sounds while playing PR, I might be tempted to look out my window.

I'll direct Jaymz here as I'm no expert on sounds.

Those are awesome videos, blackhatch
Unfortunately, we can't use any sounds in-game that aren't recorded at least semi-professionally. That means, a very decent mic setup with field recorders etc. Video cameras don't cut it unfortunately.

Sweet videos, if those can make it into the game, they'll give it an entire new level!

Hate to say this to you Jaymz, but that's near impossible with the MV-22. 1st, it's asinine to put that kind of equipment on a flight deck of an LHD when you have the plane landing near it. 150 MPH winds from it's rotor wash will blow it away. Ask the Jordanian that got hit in the head by a panel that a landing Osprey blew off a parked Huey and off the side of the ship when we were docked by Petra. 2nd, if you set that kind of equipment up by MCAS New River, where you'll have the best chance to see an Osprey since they're all around here, you'll probably be arrested within minutes.
These videos that blackhatch46 and I have are literally the best available for the MV-22.

What are you talking about? Those little things don't have rotorwash. I could kick them over. The plane I work on is the one that is the problem maker for getting clear sound on videos.
