[0917] DRAGON FLY overgrowth field issue
Posted: 2010-04-12 16:17
Description:
The overgrowth fields in the northern part seems to be some kind of buggy. I get good fps on most parts of the map, but in the area around the two "field" flags (E1/2 - H1/2) it becomes totally unplayable. The fps jumps up and down from ~15/20 to ~45 and back while driving through the fields or on the roads close to them.
When I flew over the area with the lynx I discovered something strange. While hovering the fps is at 99, or at least over 90, but when i start to move it hits rock bottom and it becomes so terribly laggy with fps around 15-20 that its hard to keep the bird in the air.
I thought these fields are supposed to be permantly visable (arent they?), but there are several blocks in the whole area which appear not until you get close to them. When the fields start to pop up, the fps goes downhill until it is not playable anymore. Maybe some of the fields are placed with wrong parameters or something like that.
Tested on/Video Setting/Sys:
- Happens on local games and internet servers
- video setting are all high, 1280x1024
- screenshots taken on amd x3 720be, 4gb ddr3, ati hd4870 1gb
Screenshots:
Made several pictures to show this strange behaviour
