Hey all,
Was just wondering to bring up a discussion, is it possible a 3rd party website could track stats for Project Reality online? I know it is not possible in BF2 itself because that has been confirmed and discussed before here that its not possible through the game itself, but got me thinking what if we set it up through a site like BF2S.com does for regular BF2? I think it would give some incentive to players to have their points recorded and various things they do in PR like time as a certain kit, team, map, in a vehicle etc.

Basically then can we confirm or deny if this could be done through a website outside of BF2, and possibly for a future version? What do you think about this possibility? Personally I think it would be awsome as now you just play to play with no records and points mean little other than for that round, and to have a comprehensive record like stats is a great idea to me however it has to be possible.

Gloryhoundz used to do it back in the day, there are ABR (alternate battlefield ranking?) stats that servers can run to track stats, not sure if its somewhere in the server licence agreement somewhere.

uh, yeah, thats the point. Who needs point incentive to do something in PR? while there is a small cool factor in seeing your trends, it could turn into MW2 if any badges or benefits of any kind are implemented

Use the search if you want information (and opinions ) about stats systems for PR. Most people aren't interested in stats, at least not as BF2 features them. If you're looking for something new, something that doesn't ever use the word "rank" or w/e, then maybe people will be interested..

There is a stat tracker, for servers anyway.

meh stats just bring lonewolfing and people playing for themselves i much prefer what we have now to the old ABR and Vbf2 systems

Stats are harmless IMO, it's just when you offer people new ranks and unlocks some play to gain them.

I don't really care about my own stats in games but it's interesting to look at them every now and then.

I wouldnt mind something to record kills (TK's), deaths, teamwork points and playtime (SM,SL and CO time tracking system wouldnt be bad either). Nothing more than that (meaning no ranks, challenges, badges, medals, golden gun unlocks and other such bs)

I do believe if the devs included stats the population of people playing PR would go up drastically. I can remember on vanilla BF@ putting in long hours trying to get that next rank. I think the same would be here also.

The most points come from staying alive. My squad has often been the best squad cuz i keep them alive. Last night i only built one firebase but keep my squad alive all round on yamalia with no deaths, also we helped defend a couple flags and won top squad. So lonewolfing wouldn't be the best way to achieve higher rank.

I just think people would put more time in PR if they had ranks and stats.

Its nice to get stats like:

Which faction won which map
Number of players on
Tracking time for when maps end. (To see if different time effects longevity of rounds)
TK's
Stats by country


I don't give two shakes of a stick how many kills or deaths I got almost anytime.

The best thing in PR is its lack of any stats and other stuff that is makes games "cooler". Stats are easy way to play on basic instincts of people - grinding and farming is now in almost every game.

People often play to unlock some random **** instead of playing for pure enjoyment. PR is like games I played when I was a kid. No artificial unlocks and stats, just pure joy of playing, getting better and discovering new dimensions of game.

When I discovered PR I was amazed by direction Developers have taken when creating this mod. No stats, no spending hours just to unlock some weapon/title/achievement/rank/etc., slower paced action than in modern shooters, teamwork and other stuff that you can hardly find in games.

IMO lack of stats is one of THAT things that makes PR what IT IS, at least for me.
