Apache Gunner FLIR Screen

Just a small suggestion, but could the gunner's camera screen be changed from green to B&W like all the other FLIR camera's? I've only been gunning on SP because I'd rather not screw my team by not having a joystick, so if it already is B&W in multi, my apologies.

THE FOLLOWING VIDEO CONTAINS REAL LIFE VIOLENCE, VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED:

Evidence of B&W screen

Again, it's not a major thing, but it's that extra immersion that makes PR so awesome.

Then again, if we really wanted realism for the gunner cams, we'd have black/white Mosquill FLIR.

Just did some additional searching in PR forums, this is a repeat suggestion. Feel free to lock it.

Edit: However, I still think B&W is more adrenaline pumping than the green when comparing the Cobra to the Apache.

The flir in the Apache is in shades of green. Flir doesn´t work in game, the current camera is the DTV (day TV) one taken from a video from inside the cockpit, there are more realistic examples but until flir works in game there is no point doing a flir cam.

The videos are black and white because its a tape recording.

The havoc is based on russian helis but made up, as there were no references, the Z10 was completely made up but in such a way to have a chinese feel to it, the cobra is in black and white which is not fully correct because it should either be colour or shades of flir green as far as I know but at the time I thought it looked fine. Though these have been changed a bit in CA.

Isn't it just a colour filter thing, rather than actually FLIR?

Because it's not real FLIR, i think the CA devs just inverted the colours when they made it.

And heres a link to the website Combined Arms : PR Add-On

Does the latest release of combined arms work with 0.917?

Its more a "test banch" than a mod IMO. Combined Arms have great things that should be put ingame but there is a risk of "vehicle are overpowered thing etc etc etc"

OK I saw videos on net and the FLIR in CA is really cool and realistic so I think that would be another realistic thing in PR if added!
And is it worth to install PR 0.874 for CA????
EDIT: I also liked that top attack and that locking aims, that is realistic too!

Not realy, there is no server, no player, no co-op mode... its pretty much a test banch, there is a couple thing that i love in PR, like the 180 moving hud in jet, like the new helmet, if you're lookin on any side you can lock and fire, rather than a fix hud at 12o'clock. Radar for AAV, Jet and Combat helo. So basicly you dont need any line of sight, you can lock on radar echo, also you have a "flir" for Jet wich allow you to drop bomb just like the bomber in PR, but without a "co-pilot" but you have to keep in mind that no matter where you look with you're targeting pod you have to check you're flight path, i cant recall how many i was like "yeaaaahaaa bomb on target', then go back at flying and see that mountain coming at 2000km/hr ... and obviously crash. lol. Ballistic on 25/30mm, there is alot of cool thing, but addin every thing to PR will make it extremely vehicle oriented and will pretty much wipe every single infantry squad. And Extremely hard for aircraft to survive, tank to hide of A.H., etc... I remember spoting 4 T90 with Longbow there where like 1700M away, lock, shoot... blowing the shit out of them without ever got a visual on them...

Anyway, R-Dev are well aware of everything in C.A., they will add what they think that should be and leave the rest behind. That the way it is.

If you haven't noticed, Mosquill has made an ACTUAL working FLIR in the BF2 engine.

Conveniently, Mosquill is an R-DEV.

Hotrod, the Tunguskas are extremely powerful in CA, which is convenient for taking out that Apache Longbow. ;)

Yes well CA had made alot of cool stuff for the attack helos like the FLIR which could be used. I dont know why some things like the hellfires upgoing effect hasnt been put into use but I imagine they have had alot of other things to take care of.

People, this is a thread about the FLIR for the apache. It has nothing to do with CA or all of CA's differences.

The simple fact that CA has done the only work on aircraft coding in PR since 0.8 kinda makes every aircraft suggestion relate back to them though, as a few of these suggestions have even already been implemented in some form (in CA).
