Slow walking

I just got the idea of Mosquills video of backup sights.

For now he only has two options to chose from: Scope, Irons.

If adding the third option to that, named Walk, using your main gun, or any weapon actually, selecting it, and pressing RMB, no sighting in or scoping in would occur, you would just walk slowly as sighted in, but with your gun at the hip.

To get back into "combat mode" select scope or irons.

Nothing major in gameplay really (good for roleplay and machinima), just a cherry on the top

Excellent idea, so long as this list isn't annoying ingame or anything I support it. Afaik he made a third commo rose for it? Perhaps even more stances could be introduced.

What if you're walking around a corner and wooop there's an enemy. Then you'd have to take those extra seconds and scroll through the menu. But I suppose if a left click sent you into 'combat mode' again that'd be good. But tbh it sounds like a lot of work for something that would never be used.

Dude, you want to use sights when in CQB and battle overall.

And if there is an enemy just behind the corner, you can still fire from the hip as you would with sights. There is no time for signting in that situation anyway.

The system would look like(on scoepd rifles)

Scope mode
- Hipfire, jogging (as it is now)
- Soped in, very slow speed (as it is now)

Irons(backup) mode:
- Hipfire, jogging (as it is now)
- Sighted in, walking speed (as it is now)

Walk mode
- Hipfire, jogging
- Hipfire, walking speed

On ironsighted weapons, the scoped option is absent, everything else stays the same.

seems aethethic to me, ingame if you want to go slow its probably because you think you are going in to contact, so just crouch and aim, this puts you in to the combat glide position.

we might only have a small number of options of speed ingame atm, but each one is effective for what is required for the situation.

as Chiz said, just a cherry, increasing the number of options etc may just make life hard for everyone.

I honestly had this same idea sometime last week. But I thought it was a resuggestion lol.

Combined Arms did it. I dont know how. But its not like Guys Jog everywhere. they usually walk NOT at 5mph.

I know, all speeds ingame dont bother me at all.

But for patrols, defending and stuff you can imagine doing walking and not jogging, this would be useful.

Doestn CA have a mix of sprint and jog, with sprint disabled?

yea speeds of walking need to be adjuster .. as such .. Crouch walking + scoped is FASTER than standing scoped walking .. lolol doesnt make sense to mee :) ... so your purposing .. you Select your weapon a 2nd time and you go into unscoped ready position? ( what about firing modes ) if you double select your weapon than wouldnt that equil change between single fire and automatic? or 3 burst? you suggesting We.. get rid of that ?? or RIGHT click the weapon you select?? that would make more sense giving the spot a 2nd usage but sill i think we would need another weapon slot

I really like the sounds of this. While it might fall under the same category as the 'Unarmed' and 'Salute' feature in online play (generally pointless), it would still be fun to have as those are.

Last time I remembered, you are not supposed to stand up straight and walk slowly at the same time in any situation.

Not supposed, but you can. As you can jump around like a maniac. Its BF2. You can do many things.

And you're saying that people run around firebases or combat glide 24/7?

Reffering to walking like this for those who dont get it.
