Whenever I load max now it just loads up and then I get this screen and it just freezes.

I have Already tried doing a full reinstall, run as admin, disable desktop/compatibility mode/change display drivers that max uses and nothing

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas before I go and post this around some other forums.

Try Disabling Visual Themes as well.
I have

Visual themes
desktop composition
display scaling on high DPI settings

Running as Win XP SP3

Ran as Admin

You must've just downloaded the latest Drivers for Nvidia. I bought my GTS250 and installed the latest 197.13 drivers (and this problem applied for my last Nvidia card as well), I had the same problem, so I went into the Device Manager and rolled back to the last driver. And it works.

Windows Vista 32-Bit
Intel Q8400 2.66Ghz
EVGA Nvidia GTS 250 1Gb (Roll back to the previous driver of 197.13)

NOW, if you're running a different brand card, or you're not running 197.13, then its time to go ask Autodesk for help.

Oh. Get 3ds Max SP 2
