Your best scenario

So I ask you forum...

... what is your dream scenarion in PR. (Wich can be done with current PR setup.)

Mine is.. well actually there are two.

1.) Attacking a redfor base (FOB, the ones moddeled ingame), but with enemy actually staying in and defending, patroling etc., not going out to the next flag. So I would have to observe their movement and everything, then plan the attack then strike.

2.) INF and Tank cooperation on Fallujah. Like the "War Pig" mission in CoD4. So tight streets, lots of battle, tense action, tight enviroment.

Mine are quite simple, yet they dont occur in PR really often... more like never.

No mines, that exactly why IEDs should be defuseable!

Having a strip of road covered in artillery IEDs as a tank convoy protects a group of supply trucks and troop carriers.

Getting caught busting a nut in the commanders tent.

Being SL in a CAS squad on Kashan Deser when hiding up in the moutains. Using Mumble SL channel to recive armour movments from the troops pinned in north and south bunkers. Placing move markers or CAS markers using the new map marker icon system and calling in my pilots to do the damage. Happend a while ago and it was a epic round for me.

Being NCO of a IFV based, MECH-INF Platoon, at the forefront of assaulting a dense urban epicentre against a technologically equal foe.

When the whole team is organized and in communication over mumble + a CO.

Airmobile infantry platoon - 4 infantry squads, 2 attack helos, 4 trans helos

That would be pretty awesome to play on an organized server. However, with a server full of nubs, all the helos would be crashed in 5 minutes and everyone would spend their time throwing smoke on the carrier rather than playing the game.

TG makes for a good place to experience it. Very often as well.

1000 people on mumble and everyone using it as it should be <3

So I dont need to pick the server after how many mumble users who are in the servers.

today was perfect, we were on jabal as MEC and got to bridge very quick. we then had a fire fight from east beach-fob and us in the hills in the north.
the commander stood up and moved my squad to attack from north west and other squad from north east with two squads laying pressure on the FOB. I ordered my grenadier to smoke up to 300 meters and we moved up 100 meters by 100 meters, trowing smoke and killing everything we saw.
we finally made it and won the round, it was epic.

in short, a good commander with obeying squadleaders who besides think for themselfs. mumble is not even needed!

Yesterday on NwA, wich is usually full of retards, i've had an epic round on Archer.

No mumble, no commander, but i used some intuition and common sense, helped an convoy (wich turned out as mission failled..), we took down one cache, helped many other squads with holding the enemies back.

The choppers were crashing often but they respawned quite fast so it was all ok in the end :D

Am I retarded if my dream(s) would be:
Being properly supressed in a trench or foxhole somewhere;
Actually running out of ammo;
Voip not working/off and mumble only.

Or any combination of the above.
That would be EPIC!

Humvee convoys on karbala (GK inspired)

still want to try and 4 man squad (2 drivers 2 gunners) in humvees with an infantry squad with them. having the inf dismount and the humvees stay with them as they advance.

in fact rudd, next time we're on i want to try this :P

We had that exact situation on Fallujah, the Abrams was down and the gun was active, the crew sitting there calling for repairs in the middle of the grassy fields.

There were a HORDE of sappers crawling up to try and mine it but luckily my squad got there and was on defence, this was right next to an enemy fob so they just kept coming in torrents. Luckily the truck spawned at main and we got repairs with it then fought our way to the cache near the T shape building north of the gas station, awesome fun :-)

But the perfect situation has only happened once...

Silent Eagle on the Russian side, spawn at Missile Silo, grab a BTR-80A and a logistics truck. Rush into village, cap&build while another squad goes airborne cavalry onto the VCP. They get a firebase up. We rush to airfield on the opposite side (east) and sit on the outside in our BTR just itching for the flag to become attackable. The instant it goes up the BTR rushes in, infantry dismounts and my squad pumps up the northern side, destroying 2 chinooks on the pad, a manned TOW humvee and the 2 AAA batteries. We go into the control tower and kill infantry that spawns, eventually running out of ammo but still surviving. 2 Bradleys roll up, a Havoc comes in and obliterates one while we request a Tandem from the APC and dominate the other one.

Image

Absolutely the greatest round of PR I've ever played, cap out in 20 minutes and the teamwork was insane. Showed how the BTR-80A is the greatest APC in the game:
  • Fast firing and accurate main gun, AP and HE rounds
  • Entrances on both sides for awesome dismount movements
  • 2 spots for a recon squad if used in the mechanized role.
  • Kit request ability + ammo
Love it.

Fairly simple.

Ammo crates, Artillery IEDs and mines: A high traffic road next to enemy bases, with a good vantage point.

2 dead rover gunners and a firebase in a position where the infantry have to run through open desert to get anywhere?

Still don't know why people think that position is good for a firebase, its totally illogical.

Full apache working with a cas squad that is in the perfect position to guide the choppers gun. Uses the laser and spots targets on the map properlly and accurately. The chopper hovers such a distance that the only thing guiding the gun are attack markers and lasers.

All this while covering an advance by the infantry unto the next flag.

Then, out of nowhere, dodges a HAT missle.

That would be an awesome recording of PR lol
