Fire support vehicle for MIL/INS

Hello.
I think we really need to use these great ZPU cannons, which are now placed in some strange locations and the most of time they cant reach any enemies. They can be used (as they were used IRL) as fire support weapons, mounted on mobile platforms.
These weapons are widely produced and exported in past, so they can be an analogue of APCs for militia forces and maybe for insurgents (on big ins maps). They can transport troops like usual trucks and provide good fire support.
Really, dont You think that these people are so stupid that they only can mount such a powerful weapon statically , like on gaza beach, kozelsk etc?

IRL these weapons were mounted on mobile platform and used even in regular Russian army (Afghanistan, Chechnya).
So, in theory, they can be used for Russians and MEC forces too.

Ye, that's what i'm talking about. We have all necessary parts, just need to put them together :) It can be kind of a raisin for mil forces, like GARY for ins ;)

Well, it looks awesome and such but I don't think it would be really much more useful than a technical. The limited field of fire makes it hard to use for attacking and it's size makes it easy to spot if you're trying to ambush something. Might be useful on defense but again, big target and it has no armor, or at least that's how I see it.

Still, it's pretty awesome, and what does the writing with the drawing mean in the second to last pic?

Is this a WWII german Nebelwerfer I see there? Freaky...

But yeah, this could be a possible asset on maps, where CAS helicopter support for Blufor is/will be implemented.

I like that idea, but it reqest ZPU-23-2 model!
It can be use on trucks like URAL4320(Ingame) or GAZ66(But that used only airborne forces)!

I did not meant any specifically type of ZPU and truck. It's just to illustrate the idea, that old AA guns can be mounted on trucks. We have both the AA and truck, so why we cant join them. Of course ZPU-23-2 will be more effective because of its different types of ammunition, but we can use what we have.

Field of fire is limited not more than any mounted gun (like apc). Gun is a little raised above trucks side, so you can pull down barrel very well. And it's not much bigger than any apc, but its firepower is 4 times bigger(if we will use zpu-4) than, for example, striker. As for armor, yes, it's simple truck, but You can see some armor plates attached on some pictures, so it's hitpoints can be increased (like for GARY for example :) ).

As for text on the picture, i think it's:
- 101 and some letters - this is designation of military sub-unit.
- Text on the petrol tank means "TO HOMELAND!"
- Text near the image of guy, holding skeleton means "we faced our death"
And on the last picture, on the piece of metal - "Only stars above us".
But yeah, this could be a possible asset on maps, where CAS helicopter support for Blufor is/will be implemented.
Maybe You don't get the idea. These beasts were used as fire support for ground combats, so it's not related to any CAS. ZPU was designed as AA gun, yes. But after all, it consists of four 14.5 mm MG, so it's just a matter of context how You will use these 4 barrels :) Only thing is matter is who will be dead first. In real wars AA vehicles were used against infantry, artillery cannons were used like AT weapons etc

They can still request SA-7's. Besides, these things are MASSIVE area suppression weapons.

Ummm, what? Resuggestion? Those links have nothing to do with this! The first one was for INS having Dooshka in general, already done now, the second is for removing technicals. How is having truck-mounted ZPUs for Militia a resuggestion for either of those?

yeah i think a ZPU or even a ZSU would be pretty gnarly on the back of a Ural or something. seeing as we've alreay got a ZSU in game, i guess that would be the viable option.
good suggestion man

I like, just make sure the recoil shakes the vehicle its being carried on to represent the usually insufficient structural integrity of the technical.

ZSU would also be good on trains wink wink

I think it would be cool if an enemy sees your front and thinks it is a suply truck and then decides to follow from behind and then... well you know

Looks like.
Yes, Taliban, Hamas, militia - same things for me in game context.
Ummm, what? Resuggestion? Those links have nothing to do with this!
I agree.
good suggestion man
Thanks.

Ye, looks like current zpu model is too big for just place it inside a truck. And now my suggestion is not so attractive in a way "we can use what we have". :) But i think it's still more easily to remove unnecessary parts from zpu4 model (wheels, thrust system, tail etc), than model new weapon (zpu-23). IF devs has zpu-4 model. If not - then yes, it's better to model zpu-23.
But why model new ZPU4,if they mostly not use in a trucks!!
And again, i think, there is no such "rule", to use especially zpu-23-2 on trucks :) It's matter of equipment. Russian army was equipped mostly with zpu-23, so they mounted it. In PR and especially for such force as militia we can use a bit older version, like zpu-4. And in myles's video, i'm not sure, but i think, there is zpu4 (1m 56s)

ZPU-4 no have HE/HE-T rounds!!!If make to ZPU "realistic" damage(Like BTR) - They can destroy APC(its more effective that all APCs)
ZPU-23 have HE-T rounds!HE-T rounds can't destroy APC(just damage it)

That is so untrue.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, You name it. Their main Nemesis is ALWAYS air support.

They always use sa-7/Stinger, Dashika 12.6mm or these ZPU AA guns.

A 20 second search in google videos will show you.

I even posted a video of an Apache taking AA fire and going down in the off-topic section not too long ago.
