Do you have X-Fi on in your audio section? If so, then that's probably the problem.
I always have sound glitches ingame when I've turned X-Fi on.
You should set it to Hardware and it should do fine.

My specs:
Core i7-930
6GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatality Pro

This is a know problem, which was thought to be fixed.

It's called sound bug (creative, eh? You might have heard it in-game).

I also have it, just had it actually in Karbala.

yeah ive had this bug before i was standing in the middle of the map with like a squad of 4 people and we could all hear a helicopter flying but no one could spot the helicopter

It's frustrating when you try to find the LB after 5 minutes walking... Or hiding for 4 minutes from a sound-bugged APC...

i havent noticed this anymore after i get my new pc.
audio setting runs now:hardware and high.

I thought this was always supposed to happen in PR. I can hear a jet preparing to take off from main base to main base on Slient Eagle and other big maps. I'm so used to it I just ignore it but now I know it's a bug I might try to fix it.

I can pretty much hear any armored vehicle or aircraft very loudly even if it's 1500m away.

Sometimes it's realy anoying.
