Hi I've been playing PR for years now with it installed on my C Hardrive and it works with jst the usual bugs. But after .917 came out I had a few more bugs and though i'd just reinstall everything and it may work better.

I installed it in this order

BF2
BF2:SF
Patch 1.5
PR .9 pt 1
PR .9 pt 2
PR .917

I also installed it on my secondary harddrive as opposed to my C drive. The problem I am having is that it no longer starts up at all, not even BF2 vanilla. What should I do?

Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor
3200+
2.08 GHz, 2.00GB of RAM
ATI X1650 Series

*I know my PC is ancient

Looks like you missed 1.41
Installation timeline

1. Install BF2
-----------------
BF2:SF Expansion | --- If you have BF2:SF, here is where it should be installed.
----------------
2. Install Battlefield 2 v1.41
3. Install Battlefield 2 v1.5
4. Install the latest PR Build (Currently: v0917 in two parts)
Part 1:
pr_0909_to_0917_patch_setup.exe
Part 2:
pr_0917_full_part2of2_setup.exe

thanks for the help, do I have to uninstall BF2 fully than?

P.S. I didn't know .0917 had 2 parts. before all these problems I was playing PR with just the 909 to 917 patch, wierd.

Well you could try to just patch 1.41 then 1.5 but if that fails then yes.
The patch is used to upgrade from PR 097.
The FULL installer is 2 parts.
I would uninstall PR (use windows uninstall, then delete the PR folder inside the EA folder and in your documents folder followed by a reboot.
Patch 1.41 them 1.5
Start BF2, relink to online account then quit out.
Install PR from the Full 1&2 part installers.
Should be good to go.
PS keep sharp objects away from you during this process and limit alcohol consumption to 6 drinks or less. ( make 'em larger if needed) ;-)
