BMP-2 for MEC&Militia

I have thought that BMP-3 is too "modern" for MEC forces. They are using T-72 which is much older than BMP-3. I can remember that when T-90 was replaced to T-72. Same should be done for BMP-3. It's odd that MEC uses a modern APC. Its even expensive and rare for Russian army so why MEC uses it? If T-90 is too modern for MEC, why they use BMP-3?
BMP-2 or BMP-1 would be great for them, with rapid firing, 30mm chain gun. Secondary weapon is AT-4 Spigot missile, like TOW in Bradley.
BMP-2 would be cool for militia. (Chetzen?, those "insurgents" in Gozelsk.) They lack of a tracked vehicle with bullet proof amour. It's frustrating to sit in BRDM-2 without any cover from firefight. You get easily destroued by handheld machine gun.

EDIT: I don't wan't to remove compeletely the BMP-3. BMP-2 would be along with BMP-3.

well, MEC is a mixture of various arab countries so one might think the T72s are a contribution from a state that had many of them, while BMP3s come from rich countries (UAE, Kuwait)

Yes, I know but it would be nice to see other vehicles, no only one type of them.

well you've already got the BTR 60 and 80. AFAIK one of BSS mods had a ready BMP2 model, so I guess it could be used. But i don't really see the point of adding a new apc which won't be that diffrent from the one we have right now.

Someone have made model of T-80 for Russian forces minimod. But it hasn't used at all.

EDIT: USI mod haves BMP-2, so it wouldn't be a big problem to port it into PR if you like it. Image

I don't think it would be unusual to use the Havoc as a MEC Attack helicopter, as Venezuela uses it as well irl. I've always thought MEC to be the modern type of army, as we see them use the $29 Million dollar MiG-29, as opposed to the F-16C, which costs more than 10 Mil less. On to the point saying that the use of the older T-72 would dictate the use of the last generation BMP-2, don't we use the T-90 model?

T-80Us are in process of phasing out by T-90s.
Omsk plant doesn't produce new T-80Us and doesn't upgrade older models, just doing small repairs.

Actual Mi-28 is remain of Vanilla BF2. Mi-24 is used in many Middle east countries, and it would be correct for MEC. Mi-28 production levels are very low. And those Venezuela's choppers, they are on order as of April 2010, but the delivery date is unknown. As we know, in BF2 MEC was introducec as modern army. IRL United Arab Emirates haves 598 BMP-3 vehicles, but there are many more countries with other vehicles.

They are researching new models, T-95 or Black Eagle. T-95 is new tank with bigger, 152mm gun. But there aren't much more information cause specs are classifield.

T-95 is cancelled, told by MoD minister deputy Vladimir Popovkin in press-conference at 04/07/2010.
Also cancelled: BMPT, BMD-4, Sprut-SD and Coalitsiya-SV

Not the BMPT! That thing had such potential to be any infantry eating monster of death. Any chance you could give us non-Russian speaking plebs a basic overview of why the programs were cancelled?

The reason they were cancelled is because they want you to think they were cancelled when they infact aren't cancelled :p

we are modernizing, can't tell you which vehicles, but it is an ongoing process and the mec is becoming more modern than they already are.

mec is a virtual force and we can give them any equipment we want.

i would wait a bit till the things set-up
iirc this june/july the 10 year arms acquisition program will be accepted and all the mess is going on around seem to be a behind the curtains fight for money

under mess i mean that there was immense amount of info in the last weeks:

-final agreement about buying Mistral from France;

-Popovkin speech about cancellation of obj 195, BMPT, BMD-4, Koalitsiya-SV, Sprut-SD, Burlak armament module for T-72/80/90

-he also said that BTR-80 wont be bought anymore, same goes for basic modification of BMP-3, he named it as "coffin"

-MoD minister speech about buying light armour technologies for APCs and IFVs in Germany

-rumours about possible purchase of IVECO cars(MRAPs?)

and that only what i could remember out of my head!!

for further discussion i think we should move here
