im still not sure what time line this is based on, destert storm, desert storm 2 :iraqi freedom, a general time around now in a un-named middle east country. But anyway, realism isnt ganna be good, because the american team, realisticly, is ganna "own" the oposition forces. But i had an idea, give the iraqis a detailed map, after all they are indiginious to these areas, should have a better knowledge of the surroundings. Airplanes, this is the onlything (that i know of) that oposition forces surpass us in. Are you ganna keep the planes even for gameplay or make them one sided for realism. I suposse what im asking you is 2 questions. When and where? and balance or realism?

we are making the weapons realistic, but our story isnt based on any conflict so we dont have to keep the balancing of weaponry realistic

also, Russian planes are very similar to US planes in fighter capabilites

another question about realism, are we ganna have to follow ROE? Ie- Your flying your plane and you spot another plane, is it's name ganna be blue or red, or do you have to fly closer before you can see that?

no, ROE wont apply, we cant possibly code that, its all about morality, if you want to follow ROE then do it

No matter what the situation is, you can always base the conflict around a balanced circumstance. Even if we were to use the Desert Storm campaign as our theme, we could easily put together maps where the balance of power is shifted towards one side. Since the conflicts exhibited obviously won't go exactly as they did in real life, we can easily turn the advantage to one side for various things in order to make a balance, and it'll be up to the maps mostly to do that.

Right there senorfreebie explains to people who think America has the best planes to think again..
They even discussed the tanks abrams and T-90, which are very evenly matched. So I doubt American can own anything except 3rd world countries....you have to realise their are other countries out there with weapons just as strong, America doesn't have the best of the best, unless of couse you believe what the media tells you.

Accidents can still happen, and besides, it's only really the major western countries that hav any sought of decent missile shield systems. Hell, even Australia only really just started gettin a system up n runnin.

I still don't even think a nuke will be launched. No sensible country will do it because that means the end of the world. And the terrorists won't do it because if they have the missles they would have already done it.

American Armor is surperior to Russian Armor. T-90s are not very well made tanks. The best Russian MBT is the T-80UM2.

Also, an F-15 has never been shot down, and it's being replaced with a better acft

F 15's have been shot down just not in US control.
