This is really starting to annoy me, and i think we need a change of attitude or hard server rules against it

its when for exemple somebody makes the CAS squad, and instead of joining there some guy makes a MIG squad and takes it, with creates a complete lacking of posible team work takes one of the squad slots up. and thorowly annoyes me

What yall think?

of course this is asset calling servers only eh

Inform an admin who will deal with theproblem. I agree its really stupid and annoying; a lot of people who don't get first squad create those type of squads and say they have the right squad. Its just stupid.

this is up to the individual servers, if you don't like how they enforce their rules, then don't play there.

I don't fully understand how naming your squad after an asset (or whatever, CAS, armor) gives YOU the right to that vehicle, and not me.

The reason behind it is that from what i understand

A) if ur a tank regiment, ur not suddenly going to become air boys.

Its so you have continuation and teamwork, all the planes work together can comunicate (voip)

helps commanders,

makes the game less vbf2

And id go to induvidual servers but this is a global community and i want to know what the community as a a holl thinks

This is a rule that only certain servers enforce. That being said, I dislike this rule. Regardless of whether or not you can only create the squad at 1:30 (to allow everyone to load in to allow fair chance to get the squad). It creates for a much more tense environment and the admins role is a far more bigger one. People should just learn to respect squad names and leave those assets to those squads.

Nuff said.

Some times you win some times you lose the asset you want but wouldnt you prefer it if the admins enforcce the rules so some times when you name your squad after the assets your squad/clan mates are set up to use knowing you will work well with the commander and as a team rather than some BF2v mentality noob just run up take it and do the bigest epic fail know to a teambased game. The people I find who moan about the rule the most are the BF2v mentality player the PR mentality player just say ah well may be next time or say in teamchat "sq2 APC squad can i get a invite so me and my clan mate can use the other APC". Its not hard its just being grown up about it.

I remember getting kicked for naming my squad "Pilots" or "Chopper" (don't remember, it was a long time ago, when Al Basrah still had the Lynx). So this guy is by the helipad, on the squad named "lynx". I didn't know what was a lynx (also, he did not have the pilot kit). The CO talked to me asking why were us two just stopped by the helipad. I said "I'm waiting for the chopper, I don't know what is HE doing).

Then I make it into the chopper (since I had the pilot kit already), and he tells on team chat I was stealing assets. I ignored it. Kicked for asset stealing after waiting some 5 minutes for it to spawn...

I like to go with the assets name in general like CAS jet/ CAS chopper, trans heli, armour, etc etc

If you name it by make, model, variant base on year of manufacture, and wether it has a tea making kit in the back then thats just a little to far for me.

naming the squads after the asset does help keep things under some control as it makes one squad for a specific role making teamwork that much more easy

It's not normlly a rule, however is IS common curtosy. If the trans helo squad is up, had more than 1 guy in it and is locked... they prolly have enough pilots, and i'll go do something else.

I wish people would apply that more often, would make the game so much better if everyone approached the game with a genteel politeness

what really annoys me is on say yamailia theres 3 chinooks and and handful of APCs, now obviously there is generally no need for the 3 birds to be up at once. So two pilots in a locked squad have it under control, along comes the 3rd guy who

1. (very rarely) asks to be in the squad [if they don't ask skip ahead to 3 ]
2. gets informed that theres no real need for a 3rd pilot (the current 2 have been idle for a while, business is low)
3. they then create Transhelo2, or something similar
4. they take the 3rd helicopter, and pointlessly fly it to people in the middle of a firefight who haven't asked for anything.
5. they crash/get shot down
6. they disconnect

end rant

This is why squad asset rules have to be enforced. There will always be asshats who can't stand not flying, or using an asset of some sort when its not theirs and its not needed. This is why I don't believe in gentlemen rules :P

I want a server with only one rule

Everyone must play and act in a Gentmanly/Ladylike manner, failure to do so is a kick.

it would be nice to think it would work but naive at the same time.

Admins can kick people who are being 'asshats' generally, allowing squads to reserve assets is another matter.

I personally prefer 'first gets it' because it's more simple, players don't have as much to legitimately complain about over chat and admins can just focus on general asshats instead of sorting out who's-allowed-to-be-using-what-asset disputes etc.

Either way there's drama and asset waste.
