Unless you are totally colour blind, you shouldn't suffer from any disadvantages in PR since you are better at distinguishing different browns (camo) and you have learnt to focus on silhuettes instead of colours.

As a person suffering from some kind of color blindness I can say that it's almost perfectly true. The only exception is the PLA attack chopper gunner's HUD (green filter with red target markers) that may seem a bit hard to distinguish.

So I guess we should be banned from PR since we have an unfair advantage?

Playing paintball with a colourblind guy one time: He ran up the field, shot 3-4 players, grabbed the flag, then snuck back, shooting 3-4 more people.
It was 5 on 5.

So it was a 5v5 and he shot 6-8 people? That doesn't sound good

I'm red/green colorblind and I usually have no problems, except when using the huds on certain aircraft. The red tends to blend in with the green ground and I have a really hard time reading it, this is especially hard when landing jets as I can't ever read my airspeed or throttle. Otherwise, I really don't have any trouble with it.

Correct. Most Valve games like L4D2, and TF2 have color blind modes.

one of my clanmates is colorblind... I asked him how could he play... he said that on desert maps it was fine for him but with maps with jungles, he's just blind and cant distinguish between camouflage and the environment... so I just tell him to be point man (bait)

Maybe he's just allergic to non-arcade mode FPSs, and spun you a story to get you off his back?
"Dude, play PR"
"No"
"Come on, that COD4 stuff is ****"
"I'M COLOURBLIND!!"
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't know!"
=P

I'm blind, I just listen for footsteps. It's not my fault players can't use faction specific footsteps

Seriously though, I don't think the color tones being used on the character models should be extreme enough to actually cause problems distinguishing between which side a player is on. There is also not only the color variances, but on each map the teams in general will have a different look. So if you're playing as USMC and the guy you're looking at is wearing a turban or carrying an RPG, waste him.
If your target is so far away that you can't see weapons or kit items, and are unable to make out the exact uniform, then use your own judgement. If he's shooting at you, shoot back. Hell, even if he's a friendly, if he's shooting at you then shoot back.
