one of the most synonymous images of the vietnam war was of wounded troops being carried into a medivac helicopter.
for the two sides in this war and later wars for one side life was very cheap for the other preciuos.
in vietnam north vietnam had 2million young men comeing of age each year. winning the war was everything and each death was like a tear in a river. to the americans everything was done to insure their safe return.
in PR the insurgent games my favorites have a taste of that. in iraq it is not the cost of life which counts but the cost of replaceing all those vehicles.
what i suggest that in PRV that in some games at least that the wounded need to be stabalized and exstrated. this will infact incourage a more platoon based game where team work is vital and the objective is king.
it would be slow i guess but i for one welcome that. if you want a more serious game you could play the gi,s or a more relaxed game the VC. it would be cool if you could grab wounded and dead and drag them back. or one person could pull them over thier shoulders and or two guys can carry the wounded by shoulders and legs.
for every wounded man wounded and exstracted before dying the americans would loose less points. the same would be if they got the american dead out also.
it probably wouldnt work with all the noobs and stuff but i thought i would share my ideas

I like it.
The only thing is, It´s the wrong engine for them wishes. The only thing you can pick up on BF2 is a kit.
I´ll wait patiently for PR:ArmA2, and then wait even more patiently for PR:Arma2/Vietnam!!!! That would be The Ultimate Kickass Mod.
But for the time being - PR:Bf2/ Vietnam I think, is going to be great.
I just hope I can run it on high. ( Havent been able to play PR without CTD since v0.87 !! )

could be that there's a medic tent in the mainbase that can heal people slowly, then it would make sense that wounded are evacuated back but most of the time they'll die when waiting for the heli or die inside it when it finally arrives
not to have the vehicle to heal you but stabilizes you (prevents you from bleeding) whilst your inside so you cant bleed out
how about make the medic kit limited
What if we take away the ability of Medics to have a medpack, only patches and revives.
He man, great ideas. I have some quotes here from the general discussion. Some things you already said are in it. Also smoke nades would be a useful feature if you want to attract the attention of medi vac's. It would be cool if we could think of a way to really integrate the medi vac into a bigger picture you know.
Just to give some key words to go and think out a scheme:
Big maps
Hot/Cold LZ
Objective
Recistance
Retreat to HQ

I would see medivac this way:
1. Soldier shot, wounded
2. "revived" and can never be fully healed
3. medivac out to base where he is then fully healed
4. returned to battle
just thoughts, not even sure if possible. BUT, would make medivac useful.

This has been suggested before for regular PR...and is pretty much not going to happen here for the same reasons

yeah, I know, but just a thought. TOo bad you couldn't make a trailer, like that for the commander, where upon entering you are healed to 100%.
But alas, yes....on we move.

to make it more realistic the whole gameplay should be changed
if you're easily hurt, the medic can heal you
but if one is critically wounded, he can't heal you completly .
he can only slow the bleeding.
so you must be flown with the medi vac helicopter to the field lazaret
that's my idea

Why would anybody do that when its so much easier to commit suicide and respawn.

Because then you're not screwing your team over by losing a ticket (or more if the current PR system is implemented).
Thats the problem with gamers today - the mentality that you can simply die and respawn and have no effect on the team - except you do.

I like the idea and think it would make PR much more realistic. In real life, if you are shot the field medic will help tend to your injuries. Then you are immediately evacuated to the nearest field hospital. After that you are usually flown home or to a more advanced care facility (too complicated for PR).
To implement such a system all we need to do is change med packs to give a max of 33% health back (I assume 50% is the threshold for bleeding out) and implement a medical tent (which has the ability to heal the health of everyone inside to 100%) within the main base. That way if a person was revived then they must RTB to stop the bleeding (0% + 33% < 50%). However, if they were only hurt a little (more than 17% health remaining) the medic can use the med pack to give the wounded soldier 33% health back to stop the bleeding (above 17% + 33% > 50%).
Now the only question is whether such a system is within the game engines limit.

I like the idea!
Further more, I think Medevac chopper should automatically heal soldiers in them!
Like APCs in vBF2 and BF1942!

I wish it weren't the case, but I'd say if you made a change like that the PR playerbase would drop significantly. It's one of those tedious but realistic things that about half of people that play PR really want, and half wouldn't put up with. There's plenty of things that would be kinda neat, and maybe possible to do in game, but would get tedious and would slow gameplay down horribly.
The same might not be true for a Vietnam mod, but who's to say
