What's wrong with my monitor?

It's recently started turning itself off for about 30-40 seconds if I start up certain games(BF2, COH), while other games have no effect(COD2). If I alt-tab out of one of the former games it also turns itself off for about the same amount of time, though if I alt-tab in and out of a game within 5-ish seconds nothing happens. It also takes a long time to turn on when it's been turned off for a long time, taking maybe 2 minutes to turn on.

I have no clue what is wrong with it.

Is it a CRT, LCD? It could be a bad cable, but I'm not good with monitors.

LCD. I've checked all the cables and they look fine.

I would recommend borrowing a friend's monitor and hooking it up to your rig.

If the same thing happens again I would think its your vido output.

Could we get some specifications of your computer also to aid in this?
Maybe even a store page to your monitor.

I think you need to specify the refresh rate and the resolution for these 2 games.
Don't know about COD2,but there is an option within the game menu for BF2/PR
Look for the one with:

1440 x 900 at 60Hz

It's probably set to 70Hz or 75Hz atm
