Terrible lag then Heartbeats stopped.

Recently I've got a brand new build.
Windows 7 64 Bit
ATI Radeon 4200 HD
2GB RAM
AMD Athlon II X3 435 2.91 GHZ.
It isn't much but it runs every game I like to play. I've only had problems with Project Reality. Before installing Project Reality I played BF2 1.5 once with my new build and I ran everything on the highest setting and it was super smooth, no lag, no jerking, it was perfect. So I was confident and excited to play Project Reality like this. But as soon as I joined a Project Reality server everything was terrible, lagging like crazy, jerking every second and for me if I lag a lot like that I get kicked with heartbeats stopped and that's the only time I get heartbeats stopped. I've even tried turning dynamic shadows off, putting terrain and geometry to medium but it was still lagging like crazy and jittery. I would hate to have to put my settings on low like I used to play but my settings can't be the problem because I ran everything perfectly fine on BF2 1.5 just earlier that day. Could someone please help?

do you have lot backround programs running when you play?
you should try to put everything in low and see what happens...just to test.
PR is much demanding that BF2.
and update punkbuster.

if you're running bullguard as anti virus program it will lag pr, even when shut down... i installed a new virus program named bitdedefender and all my problems with pr is gone. i also used to get a ton of lag.

So would I activate Max Peformance and Gaming?

Well, I tried that AMD Fusion thing didn't seem like it helped, only made things worst. I can't figure out on how to turn it off so that my screen and others things will look normal.

That's strange. It's a simple program that runs scripts. After you install it you should have a desktop shortcut ( small Fusion icon). All you need to do is double click on the Fusion shortcut and when the large icon appears on your desktop, just click on the center on it. Clicking the shortcut starts the program but doesn't run any scrips yet. By default you should see the basic view ( large Fusion icon). In the basic view you have 3 buttons on top (* on the left, X in the top middle and - on the right. The center button ( where you see "Fusion") will start/run the script you have chosen.
The * button takes you to the advanced interface where you can choose which script you want to run. It comes with 3.
Basic ( which it runs by default),
Advanced and
Expert.
Expert has the most effect on game play. ( note you can make custom ones as well)
After you choose the script you want to run as default ( I use Expert) look for the little 'target' icon on the top right (return to basic view) click it to get the large Fusion icon back. Clicking on the center of the large Fusion icon will run the selected script.
You will see a pop-up ( turn Fusion on) when the mouse cursor is over it.
To turn the program off ( really you run a script that turns everything back the way it was) All you do is click on the center again( this time it will say "turn Fusion off")
Before using Fusion I couldn't run very many programs in the background ( Mumble, teamspeak, xfire etc.) without getting lag.
With Fusion I can.
I haven't noticed any video strangeness using it.
If your using the top one (Expert) try using Advanced or basic instead.
