Reduce sniper rifles sound when fired + 2 other small suggestion

Hi,
Suggestion 1: I realized that on some maps you can hear the sniper rifle further that you can shot with it. So what is the point of the sniper in-game. Without ghillie suits(i understand for the graphics) and now that you can hear the sniper fire as far as you can shoot it, the stealth of the sniper is compromised and it is the only thing it can count on. And you all know that ALMOST everybody goes crazy when they hear a sniper fire.
Suggestion 2: I don't know if the devs are taking any more maps suggestion but i'll try. Maybe recreate the Israeli vs Mec fight (6 days war). I see the map 4KM with the Mec defending and the israeli attacking IIRC. The Mec have a system of once lose, the flag can't be recapped. Here is what i think should be the map based on.
Thanks a lot and comment plz

Suggestion 1: No comment.
Suggestion 2: Make it yourself. That will be the response as the DEVs dont have the time to make maps on a suggested basis.

Solution, Shoot and reposition, have a spotter to watch your back. simple, keep it real

The sound of a sniper rifle being fired gives you a general direction to look in, continued shooting from the same position allows that direction to be refined by those the sniper is firing at, stealth has nothing to do with it.
Snipers on PR rarely change perch and this is the reason behind enemy squads finding their position, there is nothing stealthy about taking out targets continually from the same position and this is reflected by how many sniper squads I see these days with deaths in double figures. You have to start thinking ahead and scope out positions that you can safely move to after firing 1-2 shots. To use Muttrah as an example, how many times have you seen or heard a friendly or enemy sniper firing from the crane or from the hotel roof? These are bad positions, yes, they provide you with a good view distance, but they also limit your ability to move safely to another perch, sniper positions set up inside buildings limit your view but also provide you with security and the ability to move to other positions with impunity.
I'm considering writing a newbies guide to sniping in the tactics section of the forums simply because of the number of posts in the suggestions forum outlining "problems" with the sniper kit that are not so much problems with the kit, but merely problems with the players, if you use the sniper kit properly, you'll get so much more out of it.

I don't consider myself a newbie sniper, and I do my best to operate as a field intelligence gatherer first and foremost, but anyone who can admit they've still got much to learn is a wise man; and I for one would welcome more sniper guides. Do it! =]

but wouldnt the use of silencers make the snipers job much more safe and easier?

I think "Guide" will suffice, thanks!

Well if you look at the snipers weapon they do not use a muzzle device of any kind and generally shoot a larger caliber (762). IRL generally weapons w.o breaks are louder.
Shoot and relocate.

Its an obstacle you must compensate for you cant just say that snipers needs to get lower sound, you can easily use the sound to your advantage shifting positions, makes you harder to find and may confuse enemies, Ofc some of the older maps Qwai etc. isnt really that good for snipers at all, muttrah, fools, I guess many of the ins maps works like a charm playing as sniper, you just need to see what maps that the sniper class works for and what maps it dont and dont stay at the same spot giving yourself away 5-10 times.

Exactly, and silencers haven't even become common amongst units since heavier calibers have been used in response to the phasing out of the 7.62 round. Look at the M82, you will rarely (if ever) see it fitted with a silencer.

righto, although, that seems to elevate it to the point where I might have to put in things that aren't glaringly obvious

relocate is a must. silencers would provide additional stealth.
and different maps/spots require different tactics, thats clear.

Ok, Thanks a lot for your answer and I'm happy to see that my thread might do something useful instead of sniper bashing. For the mapping i am not good at all to do that. Keep the thread alive and i can put some time on a sniper guide if you want also

the M82 as .50 rifle is something different and has a muzzelbreak, which does not allow the use of Silencers, but for M24, M40, L96 ... the use of Silencers would be possible (but lower the accuracy and keep in mind, that silencers are far form beeing as silent as shown in movies

This Barrett M82 .50 caliber rifle is equipped with the Reflex Suppressor BT8 that is suited for use with standard full power .50 BMG ammo. Muzzle brake effect of a suppressor is close to the original muzzle Barrett muzzle brake. Suppressor fastening goes without elbow grease to Barrett's existing threading for it's own original muzzle brake. However, the muzzle report is tamed considerably and it can be compared to a .308 unsuppressed rifle. The last but not the least, a suppressor is also an efficient flash hider.
but thats not important since we have no .50 cal sniper ingame.
you know the m110?
YouTube - Future Weapons Season 3 Premier M-110 Sniper Rifle
tahts my dream sniper and i would really like to have it ingame

re the 4k thing
maps take a lot of effort to make, so the mapper has to have motivation, they don't make maps just because peeps need maps, they make them because it interests them personally.
though I do have a 4k desert map in production, IDF will not be on it, but I promise I'll set up a version for a event night for you
snipers make noise...but I hear them as much as any other gun. Just make sure you have either a easily defencible position or dudes nearby to protect you.

There is a quote somewhere on the forums, but suppressors are used alot and dont effect accuracy unless shooting past around 800m IIRC from this quote.

1. Ressugestion search and use ***.
2. Make it yourself, or try and convince an Israeli Dev to do it.
Locked.
