Hello all, i have just been laid off work so i got shit loads of time on my hands and wanted to have a look in to this modeling buisness and wondered where i should begin, i wanted to make a Building purely because its a big solid object and i dont think it would be as hard to make as a car or gun would be due to the lack of curves and things it would need..

i was wondering if anyone could help me out in what programs i would need and where i can get some tutorials on how to make one ? i looked on the site but there mostly assets which i dont think i would like to do right now, want to start easy.

any help would be awesome, sorry if its a re-post, but i did use the search funtion and couldnt find nothing that i think could help me.

That post has some useful info in it. As mentioned in that topic your best bet for learning how to model is on GMax since that's basically a old, free and basic version of 3DsMax and a good place to learn the basics of modelling etc. Also just googling for tuts will bring up lots but check out some of the tuts in that post :)

Making a building for BF2 is in many ways more complicated than modelling a normal weapon/vehicle etc since its quite different from normal modelling thou making a basic building just for pratice that you dont plan on getting ingame is probably a good place to start :)

Hey Mac,

Head over to BF2editor.org... it's a great resource for almost any kind of BF2 modding.

Here's a link to their tutorial page: Official BF Editor Forums -> BF2 Community Tutorials
