that is the abriviated message I get when trying to install the .917 full installer. This is a clean install of BF2 > patch141 > patch 150 > PR won't run so here I am. I have tried running the installer in XP comp mode and as admin. Still no go.

any help would be great

the problem isnt that it is corrupted the prblem is that the installer is not ableto run on win 7 because of the bit version of the OS

64-bit Windows is fully capable of running 32-bit apps. Some 32-bit apps even perform better when they're ran in a 64-bit environment than in a 32-bit. So if the installer throws a message saying the file is not compatible it's not due to bit version of the Windows.

The reason can be (but is not limited to) corrupted component in Windows or corrupted installer file.

You're installer is corrupt if you are getting that error message. You should download the torrent, point it to save where your corrupt installer installer is, and let it fix it check the file and redownload the corrupt pieces of the file.

Chances are your PR 0.917 installer is corrupted. Try to download both parts again, preferrably using torrent links (part 1 & part 2) and a torrent client this time. µTorrent is a well-known and free torrent client.
