about the essex why does PR not have any of the other aircraft the essex employes like the ch-46 (navy version of the chinook basicly) the AV-8B harrier the ch-53 sea stallion im just curious as to why we don't try to add more choices in aircraft for maps that use the essex

Because we dont have models for those aircraft that we can use.

priorities pretty much.

creating assets take a long time and takes time away from other more important assets. instead of just having a lot of medium assets build relatively quick, we got a lot of really high quality assets build over a long time. What is most important, a sea stallion or proper handweapons or tanks etc ?

This has all been talked about before.

The CH-46 Sea Knight is going out of service and as such would be a waste of time modelling for BF2, its being replaced by the V22.

The AV-8B Harrier we have, but we do not have a map large enough to use it on yet. Once we have a map for it then you will see it ingame.

The CH-53 Sea Stallion we do not have a model for and probably dose not have that much more life in it before it goes out of service as well. Again the V22 dose pretty much everything it can do.

The V22 which you missed off your list we do have a model for donated to us from the RC mod when they shut down. How ever the model is pretty low quality and it is unlikely we will use it, thou we might use it as a place holder at some point until we get a new V22 model. Again like the AV-8B Harrier, we need a very large map in order to make it useful.


I hope that answers all your questions, basically if you want to see the other stuff on there, we need larger maps and if you want that a good plan would be to look into making a new 4km map for the USS Essex yourself

well wasn't someone working on a sea stallion? and for maps like muttrah they should take out maybe the cobra or cas huey and add the harrier etc. didn't have have a usable harrier model before?

EDIT: i know the v22 is replacing the stallion but the marines being as low funded as they are im pretty sure that they will use the sea stallion for a while yet before they switch totally to the v22 also you don't need a huge map for a harrier muttrah would be fine with a harrier just take out the cobra and replace it with the harrier you tried 2 CAS hueys and a cobra that doesn't respawn then switched it back to the old way why not try having the harrier on there for a patch?

Muttrah is far to small for a Strike Jet, even one as slow as the Harrier. Most people believe that Muttrah is just on the edge of being too small for the Cobra too.

well i have experience mapping RTS maps i made quite a few popular ones for warcraft 3 in my time however i have no experience with the bf2 mapping and i'd have to devote my time to learning it atm i have to worry about studying for my asvab and getting in better shape for when i join the army so unless i can get someone to teach me (i can find tutorials im sure but hands on help would be nice) then i don't think i'd have the time to do it

I think the Echo model Super Stallion is more appropriate, although even they are being succeeded by the CH-53K's within the next decade.
