New map New mode

This is a total shot int he dark here, but I recently had an idea for a new game mode.

During the Battle of the Black Sea (1993, Mogadishu), a joint force was assembled to rescue the two downed blackhawk crews. So my idea for a game mode is this;

Replace cache's with Active Blackhawks in the middle of the street, surrounded by multiple caches in surrounding buildings (for ammo and balance since the objective is clearly visible). The static blackhawks on the ground should become 'active' and begin to act as a flag. The Blufor has to clear out the surrounding buildings, thus 'securing' the blackhawk crew for evac. The flags should be fairly small so the blufor has to really clear out the buildings.

I think it would be an interesting mode to toy with if anything else.

Would be cool if we could add an 'evac' element, as in require the blufor to send an evac vehicle to the crash site within 1min of being captured or the flag resets again (a little hardcore?).

How is that securing it for evac if there is still the possiblity of Insurgents being around it?

What map are you talking about, a whole new one or Ramiel? In the former, the only answer you will get is DIY.

Would the crew not try to escape, they have sidearms you know. Or are you trying to make this a re-enactment of Black Hawk Down itself? In that case, go play ARMA 2. TG had a huge night with a map and realistic situations copying the incident.

Can you try to rephrase this a little? What if the blufor vehicle just rushes in, picks up the crew and bails, leaving no point in destroying the caches at all and making the rest of the game redundant?

Try thinking out your idea a little more. In fact, before you add new stuff to it, correct it by adding a system that would actually work, problems that could occur, map layout, how the teams would work, what vehicles and assets would be present, and an evaluation of whether or not this is actually worth the developers putting in the time and effort.

be nice please peeps

things like this imo would be nice in an arma2 style insurgency fight, where caches are the objective but every so often 'secondary' objectives pop up. But extraction has already been tried, which is basically what you're proposing.

We have had this kinda thing in PR before. If im not wrong it was on helmand province or something. People needed to get to a crashed helicopter. Then pickup the pilot kit, which had an awesome uzi. And then the team needed to extract that Pilot to their main base. It didnt really work tho :D

Think that was in PR 0.5?
