Hi There,
I've been messing around with the PR settings, basically because i could always run BF2 in highest settings, but with PR its different. i can only get really good performance with the low setting with EAX enabled.
In medium i get some random lag, especially with EAX on and when someone uses the macros on the commo rose. High works ok without EAX, but with it its unbearable.
However i've noticed in some quieter parts of a map, even high settings can be smooth
My system specs are:

OS: Windows XP SP3
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2500+
RAM: 1GB Corsair
AGP: Nvidia GeForce 7800GS 512MB
AUDIO: SB Audigy Platinum Audio [9000]

So my questions are, in PR Audio options, which would be the best setting SOFTWARE or HARDWARE for performance, does anyone have any additional advice to balance performance with quality

hey monty, I run XP at home also. and you and I almost have the same rig.

this is what I have.

OS: Windows XP SP3
CPU: AMD 2X Athlon
RAM: 4GB
AGP: nVidia GeForce 7950GT 1GB
Audio: SB Audigy

see we have almost the same rig.

I can't really help you with sound, but the reason it gets laggy is most likely because you only have 1 GB of RAM, you need at least 2Gigs to run it mehish, 4Gigs is optimal.

I had no thought that sound could contribute to a significant amount of lag actually?
