Hey guys, I was just wondering this. This game has all aspects that make it feel like a real battle except.......the player limit. 64 people just doesnt seem like enough for an accual battle. Plus these maps are so big it could use some extra guns! So is it possible to raise the player limit over 64?

I don't think it is but it sure would be nice to have 62 vs 62 maps or even 124 vs 124 ( do we even have that many players anymore? hopefully the new patch with bring in more people.

longer explanation: The BF2 engine doesn't support more than 64 player. Theoretically it is possible to raise the slots on the server even up to 128, but then when a 65th person tries to join it the server will crash.

I don't even have to start PR to tell you that there are probably more than 300 players playing PR atm. I can't see how you can tell that few people still play PR, seeing there are at least 2 fully populated servers 24/7

EDIT: In addition, before posting your suggestion (yes, I know that you had to wait these 25 posts before you could post it) hold on before submitting you suggestion and check the Already Suggested Suggestions thread, it's stickied. Or try using the search function, I'm 100% sure it's possible to find a thread where it has been already suggested.

That would be awsome. And there is at least 3 servers at any given time with 64 players in it. That right there is 192 players. Plus there are many with 48 players, 32, 16, ect. I think we would have enough. Now its just all about if its possible or not.

Hmmmmm, do you think there is a possibility that the PR devs will figure out a bypass? Or is it like hard-coded in there and no chance of happening?

Yes, it is hardcoded and there is absolutely no chance of bypass. I'd like to see it too, but the DEVs stated on many occasions that it's completely impossible.

In short, no it is not possible to raise the player limit as the engine cannot handle it. Experiments have been done on this for a very long time and always to no avail, you can set whatever limit you want on the server but when the 65th person tries to join he'll just crash. Please search before you post.
