Snipers and Kit Requesting

I got to thinking about this and just realized .. why can you only get one sniper rifle per squad? This seems to only encourage lone-wolf snipers and more waste of squad space going into sniper squad. A four-man sniper squad (Officer, two snipers and a medic) can be extremely effective and that's the way it should be, but if they can only get one of them what's the point? Besides, people always find ways to bypass it by just joining an infantry squad, grabbing the rifle and going on, which irritates me to no end.
Allow both sniper rifles to one squad to encourage teamwork between them, please.

A better idea is a squad leader and a sniper. The squad leader can actively mark targets on the map for enemy movements with the SL radio, has the GLTD to laze targets and spot for the sniper and the sniper can then do his duty: Killing specific individual soldiers to support the rest of the team's objectives. Having a medic tag along can help but isn't usually necessary.
Four players doing the same thing is pretty much a waste, the other sniper, if used for intel, should be somewhere else on the map.

There are countless opinions on "the way it should be", some may argue that a squad size of two (the size needed to request the Sniper kit) is fine, also, could you go into a little more detail on what your suggestion is, are you asking for the number of sniper kits available to be increased? If so, that's a terrible idea and will only lead to more one man locked squads, taking up room for everyone else who wants to play as a team.

Totally agree with you.
especially if there is a good CAS up as well.

I've honestly never met anyone under 15 on this game, maybe one kid who was about 13 but you would have never known if it wasn't for his voice.
Us Project Reality players are a different breed of mature gamers, you can almost guarantee to have good people around you.
You also need a medic in a sniper squad, you never know what will go wrong.

OP, your idea might not be well preconceived.
Imagine you could have 2 snipers in a squad. Where would be the difference to as it is now?
I think there would still be only lonewolf snpers because there are always soem noobs who request sniper kits all the time, so getting two sniper kits in the same squad is nearly impossible.
In an other thread i already had a similar idea, but imo it would be better than yours in the end:
making the sniper kit 2 kits/team, 2kits/the same squad.
so it would be like with pilote/gunner who have to be in the same squad, you only can request the second sniper kit in the same squad as the first. so we would see much more often two-man sniper teams, and if the sniper gets a radio, the one whos squadleader could also report ther targets to the commander.

Perfect squad for recon and assault is Sniper, Specialist, Cobra Gunner, Cobra Pilot, Attack Huey Pilot, Attack Huey pilot.
Dont need 2 snipers for that.

I find it daft that if some one joins the CAS squad and is asked to go spotter and they willingly do, they always seem to take the sniper kit when there is a perfectly good officer kit, when they take the sniper kit they usually give themselves away and get shot where as the officer kit makes them more likely to not bother giving themselves away by shooting.
JTAC's(spotter) (or FAC's to the yanks) are usually just a normal soldier but has a radio and a rifle with a 203 for smoke grenades and sometimes a GTLD. Obviously we dont need the rifle with the 203 as smoke doesn't render at long distances, but the officer kit has the personal weapon and his radio, which is perfect for spotting.

i wish there could at least be a 5min delay on the sniper rifle once you join a squad, i hate when people join a squad to grab it and then go make a sniper squad. that 5mins would give the SL a chance to kick the guy if he is obviously doing his own thing waiting for a sniper rifle kit.
ps: i havent seen you on TG in awhile star, where you at now?

Indeed you will need 2 snipers to make a decent ammount of chaos and destrution, but if is to doing this, why not place 2 Automatic riflemans? it can do alot more, and require alot less skill to do so.
snipers become real popular in shooters game because in other games lone wolfing is encouraged and the main line of atack and defense, so you see a guy runing away, BAG head shoot = WIN WIN WIN.
but in PR, things are diferent, you may have killed one of then, but all others will shoot back in you ***, also. the medic will be going to revive they falen dude, what fuck you. alot, meaning that all risk has for nothing.
i personal dislike snipers to be used in war fare, it's not much help, he is a kind of especialist, a real guy, necessary to delicated jobs, not that i saying he is useless, and that is the point of a sniper, he is always loking for enemy, if he see for exemple a hight command oficer, he will shoot. is like a eye whicht the dead will of his commander. that is what a sniper is.
and whicht you kwoning what do, and you enemy whictout leadership, it's time to people die. a no mistake.

No, my suggestion is not more sniper kits, my suggestion is allowing both sniper kits to be requested by the same squad. Currently, you have to get the sniper kits in two separate squads..

Um. So? Right now people just go around the barrier anyway by JOINING an inf squad, getting the kit, leaving and joining their buddy's sniper squad (he did the same thing to another squad)

I have been in some sniper squads I just play medic and sit there. Just encase of a enemy sniper.

I understand all your thoughts and tactics you are presenting here,
but imo you all forget about the realism.
The only thing that has to be done to the sniper kit is chaning it to be able to use only in a realistic way.
that means, radio, gltd, rifle, camo, and 2 and ONLY 2 guys in the same squad.
I bet there have never been any sniper teams in conventional armies and missions who had a medic or something like a specalist in their team.
because of stealth is everything for a sniper, its the less soldiers in one team the better. and thats why the sniper has to be a highly specialised kit which operates in small group (-> 2 man squad.)
ps:
and please for highly trained players!! i just want a ranking or training system for special kits and vehicles, which you have to complete before you cant request the kit/drive the vehicle. (didnt Americas Army ahd such a system?)

PR doesnt work like real life. it's a bit harder to hide.
