Hi


Today I decided to do some commanding. I cruised around in the UAV, trying to find caches. Then suddenly this loud noise appears. Sparks of death, really loud sparks. Had to turn down the volume because it was so loud. It came every now and then, but ONLY while I was in the UAV. I remember hearing the same sounds a couple of months ago when I was using the UAV the last time. I have NEVER heard anything like it while fighting or the ground or in any other vehicle.


Is it just me and my system or is anyone else experiencing similar problems?

I've never used the UAV for more than 20 seconds in PR, but I believe the sound you are describing is when your headphone gets bad connection with the soundboard, causing static... Could that be it? Maybe you got excited when using the UAV and accidently pulled the cable?

I experience the same thing, and its never been because of a bad connection to my soundcard/USB. It doesn't happen a lot just every so often its a really loud static like noise.

Nope, it is a known UAV bug.

It is a loud feedback noise that happens to everyone

Please devs fix this

Yeah makes the UAV use very painful on the ears

I get the same problem. I never heard it on the highest audio setting when i used my headset, but now that i'm back on the lower setting with regular speakers, i hear it.

So you guys should try changing the audio quality settings, like badmojo420 suggested, while this isn't fixed by the DEVs.

I tried using medium and high settings. Did not help me at all

It isn't a constant thing, only seems to happen in certain areas of the maps.

I found out what that was.

It happens that the PR Bear uses an electromagnetic cloak device that renders him invisible to human or machine's eyes (that's why Chuck Norris is able to see him, and the average PR player, not). However, that cloaking device is still in beta phase. One of the known issues is that, when an UAV gets within a mile from the bear using said device, a strong static interferes with the UAV's transmission antena, thus creating the statics sound.

this is the sound of the UAV flying when you use EAX on low quality.

First time I had it I thought I was being shot =P
But it's a little bugg I think, no need to worry.

it happend to me on muttrah, jabal and ins map (brits vs ins) mostly when uav faces particular direction (S-SW for me)... if i slightly change it, noise goes away

I agree completely with that, I believe it is caused by certain areas of the map. While we are at it, the UAV allows me to hear people on the ground using mumble when I get nearby with it. totally awesome
