Hello, I remember in older versions all I had to do to build something was hold t and select place whatever...but in 0.9 I have no idea how to build anything

use the radio

The radio's a weapon, select it, right click (after you have it selectecd), then hold T.

Yep, you can also us your radio to spot enemy stuff (from 1337fantry to FOBs and Tanks). Right click to "aim" the radio and Q key. Right button on center, set distance (left or right mouse button) and type of enemy spotted (some people have a bug which they can't select anything that's on the left or right side of the commo rose. Just release and re-press Q). Also, when spotting, give a single step forward (so your body, and not just your head, is aiming towards that direction).

My question is sort of related to this, but how does an insurgent cell leader request a mortar strike? I had a commander ask me to place a mortar strike on an enemy position for him, but upon asking, nobody seemed to know how to do it. I looked at all the commands with Q/T with the radio in use, and with binocs, couldn't find it.

Look at the radio again, there should be a command.

Yeah, get the cellphone (onlY works if you are a Cell Leader or Civilian! UNARMED does NOT work!) or the BLUFOR's Officer Radio. "Aim" it (right mouse button) and hold T: There should be an "Area Attack" command if you click right mouse button in the lowest command "box".

Use the radio from the officer kit. Then hold T.
