Hey all,
Just wanted to post about some performance issues i've been having in PR/BF2 as of late. It seems I run the game about 40 frames a second normally which I would guess isn't too bad, but really is wierd is ill be playing the game and all of a sudden at random times it will freeze up and run at 1-2 frames a second where the sound is buzzing and will usually do this for over a minute or so and come out of it and go back to normal frames. Any ideas whats causing this? Thanks
Oh for specs run PR on a laptop with a i720 and geforce FX 220

Heat issues? Anti virus hogging it up? Do you have the latest drivers installed?

First thanks for the reply and ill answer each point and see what we can figure out:
I don't think the anti virus could have much to do with it I have Norton security 2010 but any way I could look into that?
Heat issues? Well I don't seem to think I have before my laptop seems to cool itself pretty well but do you think such wierd slowdown could be related to overheating? Maybe I should buy a cooling pad for gaming?
Drivers-Just got the latest drivers for My NVIDIA sound card and graphics card- not sure if it helped anything the frame thing in recent games still happens just not as often maybe...
Anyone else who has anything to help please let me know as well.

Well, this happens to me occasionally on other games... (that is, if I'm thinking of the right problem) basically for me if I got really laggyish or froze, and the sound would glitch out, well what i would do to fix this is to just mute the sound and it would go back to being smooth and normal. Then un-mute the sound.
it works for me although you may be having a different problem.

Ill give that the shot for the sake of trying, however I must say about average i've been running low frames like 20 fps or less with huge jumps according to x-fire(not sure how accurate it is) in the last while of playing and I don't have the fastest GHZ for a processor and as far as I know I should generally get 40 fps and run PR fine with maybe minor slowless.
Something is going wrong and im really awed and im really unsure as how to fix it, and if I just got the sluggish slowdown with sound glitching and all other performance was consistent i'd tend to think that its more simple but probably a overall performance issue.
