playing pr offline-multiplayer (local server)

hi there

This is probably a stupid question , but :
What files do i need to play pr offline?

We have a weekly BF2 lan session (+- 8 - 10 players vs bots) and i just want to be sure i download all the needed files...Will i b able 2 host a Local server (seeing that the server files arent available 4 download)

BF2 vanilla is getting a bit tired now..(after like 6 years of lanning it) so i want to breath new life into our weekly game...what better way to do it than with a quality mod.
And from other forums (+ the fact u guys won BF2 mod of the year) I have come 2 the conclusion that this is the mod we should b playing.(plus i saw a brief demo on an E3 video ,i think...and it looked hot!!)

If u r wondering why i dont just download + try it - here in sunny south-africa we have a "capping" system in place + me with only 3 Gig download / month ,so i dont want 2 blow my whole months cap on a mod i might not b able 2 play / or only play solo(we want 2 lan)

oh yes...and is co-op gamestyle supported (without bots to fill in the numbers-stages are pretty boring...) i hope so...otherwise its 3/4 a side conquest (not ideal...)

thanx for any help/advice

just PR will suffice.

then go to local and run a local game.

(ofc you need BF2 patched up as well.)

E: though dependant on your system as PR tends to be pretty heavy going.

Patch BF2 to 1.41 (if you haven't already) and then to 1.5 - that alone is quite alot to download, sadly.

Then you only need the current PR version, which is split in two parts to download, and also quite huge.

It has everything you need, including bots (though the number of co-op maps is smaller than the number of maps in total - it's still quite a few)

indeed it is, in fact I love getting 5 friends together to battle against around 40 bots :) gets super intense, I recommend Ramiel 16 if you wanna try that :P

the log in system is the same as BF2s, if you need to create an account that doesn't require you to log in to teh internet just create a new account and select singleplayer instead of multiplayer.

Playing with 96 bots is quite cool also, although it can seriously lag your CPU.

you will have to go quite a few versions back to be able to play on BF2 1.41, which one excatly I would have to look up.

PR v0.9 or v0.91 or v0.92 will not work on BF2 v1.41.

0.86 i believe, since 0.87 was out specifically for 1.5

I would be the Bot F'n Master if you could, I recently had to resort to buying ARMA2 to try it out since I could at least play it offline.
Local PRSP server => PRSP offline.

Sharps mate, you need to make a new account, you'll see 2 buttons Multiplayer/Singleplayer, click singleplayer and you'll not need an internet connection to load PR up

After I saw this topic I have a question which maybe is a little bit off-topic, is it possible to create a game on local and give the IP to someone that isnt in your LAN and he to join?

yes, but you both need to be using a VPN program like hamachi, which tricks peoples computers that both have an internet connection that they are on the same LAN.

OK but how come me and a friend played on Wake Atoll on local and he is in Lithuania and I am in Macedonia without hamachi, and he created the server on local? that is what confused me, otherwise I know about hamachi and I have tried with it

And it doesn't work? It should work if you give him the IP that hamachi shows.
