I just want to know a few things about deviation. Does switching weapons affect deviation and does zooming in and out affect deviation?

Movement (W,A,S & D keys) and moving the gun around creates deviation. Recoil effects the deviation as well, but if your in the one spot, and not darting your gun around like a nutter you shouldn't have a problem.
I think this might be in the manual but the latest patch brought in new deviation rules, where you can move in small increments without completely resetting the deviation. So if you move for 1 second, you only have to wait another second for the deviation to disappear, 2 seconds = 2 seconds wait so on and so forth.
Searching for the exact numbers I swear I saw in a changelog, but here it is from the manual:
Weapons take a longer time (typically up to 5 seconds) to shoot
accurately after movement. This time is shortened if the player moved
for less than 5 seconds. This allows players to make small positional
corrections without suffering the full penalty. Going prone greatly reduces
the player's accuracy for a few seconds but provides the highest accuracy
once the player's aim has recovered.
