Why can only some maps be played singlepayer

I am windering why can only some maps be played singlepayer? Is threre a way to make all maps be poupulated by bots? Somthing a user could do or is it a matter of bf2s abilitys?

I think it has to do with setting up paths for the bots or something... If you ever play a COOP map, you'll notice the bots follow the same general routes every time, and I guess it takes time and effort to set that up.

The SP team spend a lot of time tweaking each map so that bots can use them. This includes 'Nav-meshing' that ZephyrDark has mentioned but also includes modifying/changing/removing certain statics or other troublesome gameplay objects that can confuse bots.
Vehicles, kits and game mechanics need tweaks and changes too, there's quite a lot of work involved.
They're a very hard working bunch of chaps but there are so many maps in PR right now that it takes some time.

I may be mistaken but as far as I know the DEVs do plan on adding more single player maps in future updates. So I guess its just about waiting it out. I remember in the first release of the standalone PRSP there were maps such as Korengal, which isn't in the current SP. I remember reading somewhere that it would be back but it was being tweaked.
