Would you like to have a 1 mumble channel event with no voip?

Phoenix Project is thinking about running an event in which:
1. Voip will be disabled
2. Everyone will HAVE to be in mumble
3. Mumble will only have 1 channel so the enemy can hear you
4. Possibly running a custom map
Would you be interested in joining? Why or why not post below

we did actually try this during beta testing once when the BF2 voip failed
it was really hard to keep together but it was a very realistic experience

I'd like it for sure, even though often not entirely realistic (enemy can understand what you're saying) and sometimes spammy, normal VOIP has it's unrealistic aspects and downsides as well (enemy not being able to hear you and not being able to directly communicate to other squads). With mumble being mandatory for everyone playing (SL's being in their SL channels) and no BF2 VOIP it could lead to some nice teamwork and interesting situations.

looks fun and realistic, but i don't like mumble... it's useless unless all the players are using it (even the enemies)...
it would be cool if the voip system was like this:
When you talk, your voice is emmited like a normal sound, like a granade explosion or someone shooting, and if you want to talk with a apc crew, commander or a helicopter pilot you would have to use a radio like those radios that we already have in-game, with a radio sound effect on it...

I don't really like the 1 channel mumble thing but I don't have that much experience with it and if you remove VIOP it makes it a whole new experience.

I love 1 channel mumble, although a lot of people seem to abuse the fact that allies and enemies alike can hear them. But yeh, I'm all for it, I think the Reality Teamwork mumble servers were* set up like that.

i would join regardless two channels or one. the fact that Voip is disabled will make it quite interesting. but ive always preferred one channel, because its always interesting eaves-dropping...

There would be problems especially with the sounds in game playing over mumble. No-one is going to want to scream into their mic to be heard for a guy twenty feet from them.
Its a fun idea, but lacking in practicality. Wouldn't hurt wanting to try though, I know I'm up for it

We've still not decided on one/two channels. Of course, there will be squad leader ("radio") channels. Of course, VOIP will be completely disabled, and EVERYONE _WILL_ be on mumble. We'll make sure of that

What do you mean? I have been on a 1 channel mumble server and don't know what you talking about. Either way it will be interesting!

No VOIP - EPIC WIN!
But SL channels should stay ofcourse because it would be a mess without them.
