Screen goes black when heavily wounded

I've had this problem since 0.9 came out.
Basically, the wounded effect that happens when you are heavily wounded, where it is really whited out and hard to see, etc. I don't see that. It just goes to a total black screen except for my HUD and I am totally blind. I get healed and it goes away. All other wounded effects (blood spatter, etc.) work correctly, but for me, the "white out" effect instead becomes the "black out" effect.
I'm running an ATI Radeon HD 5970 on Catalyst 10.5 drivers. I would really appreciate any help I can get on this issue, it makes PR quite hard to play.

I really would appreciate if anyone had a solution for me. It is quite difficult to play PR properly when you are blind like this.

Try being patient next time, and don't bump your own thread.
First off, make sure these are the latest drivers, if so, try rolling back to the last driver, by going into the Device Manager.
Post a screenshot of this
Try going into another mod, get wounded and see if the same thing happens.
The best I can tell you until then is reinstall the game.

Probably a shader problem. Update your drivers and then empty your shaders cache. That should solve it.
To empty the shader cache you can use
Battlefield Cleaner.

Let's leave the personal comments aside, please.
These are not the latest drivers, they are the ones that work the best for me. I've had this problem with many other, earlier drivers as well.
I already described what my problem looks like. A screenshot of a completely black screen except for the HUD is going to be just that, a completely black screen except for the HUD.

Thanks, I'll definitely try this out. I noticed I was having some other shader issues in Forgotten Hope 2, this is in all likelihood related to that. I appreciate your help.
