Ive been using mumble for a while in game and find it really usefull but i remember reading somewhere that you you could shout and whisper when using mumble, increasing or decresing the range at which people can hear you. I searched for the topic again but couldnt find it and was wondering whether anyone knew how it was done.

Hi mate, you used to be able to do that however it was standardised to 70m to avoid people cheating :)

for now use local chat for friendlies within 70m, and squad leader radio only in teh SL channels to communicate with other squads

. yea the old version before PR mumble .5 would be ... you hear a faint sound of the person talking ... which could be ... 10000 meters away . which dosnt make sense .. how could you hear some one that far away... so people decided to Change it to a standard talking distance .. which IS very realistic if you are across a field you cant hear the person very well untill you get closer

what would be cool is if some one could code a new version wher ... the louder you talk the Bit farther the speech distance goes ... so if you are normal talking it would be normal 70 M but if you are Yelling into the mic the distance gets boosted to ... 70 - 100 m depending upon how loud you are :P simulate yelling ^_^

I just came up with an idea:
Enemies can hear you talk when your close to them.

Your thoughts?
I think it would be cool, and adds more realism. Plus it adds more choice: whisper or talk loud...

Have you used mumble? 1 channel system allows for this, tho the enemy will hear you from 70m away regardless of how much you whisper/building/huge hill is blocking you.

Thats why some severs separate the teams into channels so you cant hear the enemy.

When I play primtime (20.30 GMT+00.00/ 21.30 GMT+1.00) nobody is on the mumble channels, and TG is most of the time empty or full.
