Working Mirrors?

I'm pretty sure this hasn't been suggested yet, but how about side-mirrors that actually work? I was driving a jeep and noticed they were just a texture. I'm not sure if it's possible, in fact in sounds like it isn't, but I think working rear-view mirrors would be valuable. Currently you cant see whats round back of you.

adding the F11 feature to look back on all vehicles seems like a better and more plausable solution

If you're in a truck, press "C" for the "rear view mirror". Perhaps it's an idea to implement this for some other vehicles as well, but real working mirrors don't work I'm afraid.

unfortunately the mirrors themselves cannot actually work, they just get a envmap texture so that they reflect nicely.
though you could probably have weaponslots like on the choppers that look behind you with a hud overlay of a mirror

This just seems practical. Too bad BF2 cant do realtime reflections though.
I think the trucks mirror function should be standard on jeeps and the like. I mean, don't most non-armour vehicles have mirrors?

Yes, and it would make sence to be able to use them by using the F11 or C key.
