Removal of Binoculars for certain Blufor/OpFor Kit Classes

Suggestion: Not every kit needs to have binoculars, the removal of the binocs for certain kit classes could end up being more useful among other things.
Suggestion of Kits Classes for removal: Medic, Rifleman Ammo, Automatic Rifleman, Light Anti-Tank, Grenadier, Heavy Anti-Tank, Manual AA.
*Also, the removal of binocs doesn't necessarily mean that something has to be put in the empty slot.

Don't see anything useful in this.
Yes in theory this would enforce bigger squads so people need to have a "dedicated" binoculars person.
But in reality it will just make more players hate the for example medic kit. So I say a big no to this one.

... what if i like seeing farther and in more detail whats too far to see with my scope?? :O how ever will i make good decisions .. like with some of the kits like HAT and granadeer .. the sights you get dont help a whole lot spotting out targets so if you can conirm .. THERE is an enemy then you have a better shot at making a kill ... i say keep the Binocs they come in handy way too often

PR is the only game that has ever forced me to use the binoculars.
I don't want them taken from the medic or grenadier though if they must be removed.

I wouldn't mind binocs being removed from all scope kits except for SL and sniper kits, but with nothing to replace them I don't see the point.

Disagree; agree. I think they are really useful, but I am not completely sure if they're worth keeping in all kits. For instance, scoped kits don't have a lot of power spotting enemies because everyone has binoculars.
Consider a medic with binocs vs. 2 scoped riflemen, who are 200m+ apart. The medic can scan with his binocs, and locate the riflemen pretty easily, which will allow him to move only when they are not looking, or to fire back, even though he'd have trouble spotting them without binocs.
That same situation, where the medic does not have binocs, now requires the medic to be extremely alert to spot the two scoped riflemen, who will only give their positions away upon firing, at which point the medic would have to dash for cover and could retaliate.
The biggest difference now is that the players with scoped weaponry now have the upper hand in spotting a non-scoped enemy, which seems reasonable.

Thats the idea i was going with, but also keeping it for the marksmen, or the rifleman specialist to incorporate a sniper/spotter idea, which also the SL kit can fulfill. The only reason I didn't say what to put in the extra slot is because I am unsure, I could see on Para Maps for blufor, an incendiary, or for certain specialized kits which don't have binocs, a parachute, but for non-para maps, I am unsure.
Is there really a reason why the medic kit should have binocs? If a medic is spotting for enemy targets then they really are only setting themselves up to get shot.

just remember, removing binoculars also limits people who don't have super computers, and cant run on full graphics. its bad enough we have our vision unrealistically limited by fog, and now you want binocs removed.
Five years ago individual soldiers were issued with Sight Unit Small Arms Triluxs, Image Intensified Common Weapon Sights and Binoculars. Now they also get Advanced Combat Optical Gun sights, Thermal Imaging Systems, Head Mounted Night Vision Systems, VIPER 2+ Thermal Imaging Weapon Sights, and Target Locating Systems.

it will be painfull step from gameplay to realism. and i'm not sure if a common soldier cannot take binoc before moving out to mission. if that's true for some army, i don't mind.
edit: remove binoc from civies, they're fckn invulnerable spotters

well yeah there is.... he is a "combat" medic thus combat first medic second imo, so the medic can say confirm kills for AR and others since sights have less zoom (i think?) than binocs

well here are a few ideas to discuss
As Magnum said, the paratroopers need incendiaries, I think that is an excellent point!
on non para maps/non para teams
rifleman ammo, remove binocs gain 2nd bag of ammo
auto rifle, remove binocs gain a grenade (auto rifle then is super powerful, but requires a spotted to be really accurate

)
things like that

I agree but for removing them on maps with no para is a no for me

binocs are standard issue for infantry kits, remember that binocs in modern army are not the bulky type that you had in ww2, they are a lot smaller.

I love the medic kit! I use it atleast 60% of the time when I play because no one else wants to use it due to the lack of scopes most of the time. I think a red dot should be put on the medic and the binos be removed personally. Sure the red dot has no enhanced zoom, but it would make more people play medic.
The only time I ever use binos as medic is when the point man gets taken out from range and we scan before a smoke gets thrown out. I think medic should get more smokes. More smokes and a few more Epi-Pens.
This is just me blabbing on though

Strongly disagree.
Give me one benefit of it and I'll agree.
I thought it is a standard for each infantry soldier ?

No, no, no, and F***loads more of NO. The binoculars are more useful than my gun has even been.

I have been having a tough time finding standard issue military equipment/gear of the US Army and USMC Infantryman/Rifleman, however, I have found several wiki linked and wiki posts on the matter, though I don't completely agree with the truthfulness of what is posted on wikipedia here is what I have found:
List of United States Marine Corps individual equipment

Infantry Gear « U.S. Marines – United States Marine Corps
http://www.military.com/NewContent/0,13 ... 04,00.html
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ ... 85/IDC.htm
*I will also try and get in touch with a friend home on leave who is in the USMC and also a friend's husband who returned from Helmand Province a few months back and get his feedback.
I don't doubt that binoculars are used, It just seems from my perspective (I am not in the military) that most of the spotting/looking also comes from using other types of optics/scopes, and other forms of observational equipment.
