The current Parachute control is absurdly inaccurate. I do not see how changing how you control it would do anything but increase quality game play.

Does not server a purpose? Are you out of your mind? I hit trees and my parachute collaspes and I die, if I even had the slight ability to control it I would avoid it.
************ I am not saying put it back to vanilla BF2 Parachute, I am just saying give us a little bit.

The control ability (or lack there of) is there to simulate the usage of the circular MC1-1 type parachute (which we planned back in 0.9 to implement, just is pretty low of the priority list), which is much less maneuverable than the vBF2 rectangular type parachutes.
In the current form, you do move forward at a slow rate, you don't fall straight down. Using this, you can avoid areas of trees and other obstacles easily enough. That said though, even in real life, there are many accidents and even deaths from parachuting by hitting unavoidable obstacles, so I guess you can play the realistic card to that

.
I dunno, I reckon it's fine how it is atm.

Plus it does keep you in the area your supposed to be parachuting down to, otherwise would have people chuting all the way across the map in the time it takes to get boots to the ground.

Model is a paraglider, and you can do all shizz with that in RL but the chute in supposed to represent the round things wich are there to get you to the ground safely not to take a view of the scenery, do some wicked acrobatic combos and then land safely.

There's nothing safe about landing directly in a nest of enemies because you were shot down above them. Is there really no room for maneuvering with the actual parachutes?

we shouldn't even be getting shot down while parachuting it's against the Geneva convection

. Anyway i think the parachutes are alright there is a bit of movement in them not much but a little.

Hmm judging by how most Modern AIRBOURNE forces use STATIC LINE jumping as there method of choice, they use a normal Round parachute which gives them little control and are often at the mercy of the elements to where they land. For a contralable parachute you need a square one if im right which allows you to have full control of where you go, like the ones used by special forces for HAHO and HALO Jumps.

None.

The MC1-1 parachute does create some forward motion, as it has vents in the rear, but its primarily for countering light wind as I understand it, and it's definitely not meant to help you maneuver all about the drop zone. The point of a static line parachute is to put a man on the ground with a weapon and gear, but not much beyond that.

This.
