Did a search but found nothing conclusive on this.

Is there any way, when picking up an enemy kit, that you only collect the weapons.
if i was in battle and i picked up an enemy weapon, i would not put on his uniform as well.
It is so frustrating seeing a friendly uniform running towards/away only to find it was actually an enemy wearing friendly kit.
Perhaps even taking the ability to pick enemy kits up altogether would be better

It would better the gameplay and relieve the necessity to wait 3 or 4 second before firing to see if a tag appears above him, especially for the distance viewing where a tag does not even appear .

then you could get rid of name tags altogether

Not possible on the BF2 engine and it has been discussed before.

Basically all the equipment you see on the soldier is part of the kit and the weapon cannot be separated from the kit.
