Splitting up the MEC

I do realize that it's possibly too late for this, but I was thinking that the MEC forces should be split into two seperate armies. One would be a pro western (NATO) faction, and the other would gravitate towards the Russians and Chinese (S.C.O). I have a few reasons for this. First is Turkey. In the real world, it is a Muslim country (and untill recently) the only Muslim ally of Israel. It's also the second largest member of NATO. It is however, a muslim country, and public opinnion towards Israel in the country has gone from " oh they're alright, but they should leave those poor Gazans alone", to " ISRAEL IS THE ENEMY!!!" ( this is a generalization, at the time of this article being written). Secondly, it's easy to forget that the middle east is ethnically diverse, and politically as well. There are pro-western people in the middle east, as well as pro eastern, and then there's the pro-middle eastern. It's easy to forget that both China and Russia have suffered terrorist attacks, from muslim seperatist groups in the Ughyer (North-west China) and Chechnya (southern Russia) respectively. As well, the middle eastern states don't all see eye-to-eye, as the MEC suggests it would be so. My proposal is this: split the MEC into pro-western and pro eastern factions, have the insurgent factions become a middle-east/Islam only faction, and have them fight agianst the Russians and the Chinese as well as western forces. As I don't have any M0dd1ng Sk11lz, I leave this totally as a suggestion

I think it would be cool in all.
Maybe a Community Faction project.
Might take awhile. and if i had any experience in making shit like that I would do it.
Maybe if this becomes a com faction, I can be an advisor, I'm quite good with weapons and world relations

If there really is a point in splitting up the faction to make it more fitting "In the real world", there'd be no point in the MEC existing as they are fictional.
Granted this may give mappers a bit more freedom when deciding who's fighting who on their maps but I'm sure they have enough factions to play around with.

I'm somewhat relieved that this topic has come up. I think we should at least turn MEC into Pakistan, because everything MEC has is based from Pakistan's Army. I'm not going to suggest any more factions until we get the current ones done. There's way too many.

This topic has come up in some of the Syria/Iraq/Lebanon/*other Middle Eastern power here* armed forces threads in Community Modding. I personally wouldn't mind breaking up the MEC and diversifying it, but someone has to do the work, and it would not add as much to the mod as many easier changes would. In short, low priority, but not unreasonable for a future community faction project

There are pro's and con's of breaking up the MEC into seperate factions. Pro's would include getting rid of a fictional army, and making room for more newer factions
Con's would include removing (afaik) one of the factions that im sure map makers choose if they can't really decide which opfor to use. Plus no one is working on the Pakistan Army (again, afaik, PR developers sometimes do things behind the scenes) and i personally love the equiptment the MEC uses
I'd say keep the MEC as the MEC, or at least until more factions are completly developed

Biggest benefit of MEC - they are fictional, this gives a lot of flexibility, ie we can give them any equipment we want(and you will see some epic toys in future

).
Making it into separate factions will take away that, add massive amount of work, filesize increase etc. for almost no gain.
Locked for resugesstion, was discussed many times before in various threads.
