Hi!
I've searched this forum and googled after answers to this frustrating problem.

Of late my squad mates have been complaining about the volume of my voice, im using a third party VOIP with a friend when i play and he is complaining that im too loud.

I think ive narrowed the problem down to this - BF dont give a **** about me ticking the mic boost option.
I CAN tick it, just that it gives no effect what so ever.

I have mic boost activated (in sound driver) and it really does boost my mic gain.
It works fine with everything else than BF.

Im running out of hair to pull so im hoping some one of you guys/gals might have just the solution to my headaches.

Specs as follows

OS - Win 7 Home Prof

CPU q9550
ram 8gig
gfx nvidia 480
and now to the more interesting part i think
sound card - Xonar Essence STX

The weirdest thing to me is that this problem somehow snuck up on me and this card is kinda new. BUT - i tried to disable this card and reactivate my old Realtek built-in one. same god damn shit just got some extra background noise.

So bottom line - Mic is working very well, mic boost is active, VOIP works in BF2, I cant activate Mic Boost in BF2.

the BF2 mic boost will only effect ingame whilst the sound cards own boost is everything.
