Analog Stick + Mouse Combo

So we all know the Console versus Computer arguements. And largely enough I think we can all agree that the mouse is a better input device than an Analog stick for looking around.

Now, I got to thinking though that four little buttons do a poor job of controlling movements. So then I thought of the JoyStick. Perhaps utilize that with a mouse for maximum control of movements. And surprisingly it worked pretty well. However, the Joystick isn't meant to be pushed foreward and held in that position all the time. For me it was tiring pretty quickly. Also it limited my button useage to just six.

So the question I have is:

Does anyone know of a Analog stick like attachment to a computer with a large amount of bindable buttons? Or some way to make this frankestien combination work?

I can see it being REALLY useful to control how fast you move in any direction while also having greater control over what direction you can move too.

Yeah I have a omni joystick (but actually when I fly I still use mouse/joy combo for free look).

That G13 Gamepad looks like what I'm talking about... has anyone used this thing?

A bit of DIY, but you could strap a controller to your desk (ps3 or xbox, with the right drivers) map the analouge stick to the keys, and voila, no loss of cash, maybe a little less comfortable.. But I guess you could map the other buttons to the other useful keys like crouch and talk and stuff. If not you may have to play it like Arma 2's default controls, where i swear you need 3 arms for some things..

So I got a G13, its sweet and form fitting, but for some reason I can't get it to work while in PR.

It works outside of PR but in it? Nopes. >_< I can't trouble shoot because Logitech is doing maintenance.
