Russian Army Shotgun?

Why are the Russians using a Chinese shotgun when they could be using the Saiga? It doesn't make sense when MEC are using a Russian shotgun but the Russians don't even use their own shotgun.

According to Wikipedia, the Russian Ground Forces use the Saiga-12. I don't see anything there about the Norinco 982.

Some person with no military experience whatsoever could have made that thread, and just put in a bunch of things HE thinks the russians use. There are also 0 sources on this page:

However, it is possible that they may use this shotgun, or it's even more possible that they use some sort of pump action shotgun, such as one that looks like the norinco.

Saiga shotgun. Why isn't it used?

Well my last topic got locked without answering my question.
Saiga shotgun. Why isn't it used for the Russians?
This is not a suggestion just a question.
Sorry if i seem spammy but i want to know. I know the Devs have military advisers and I am not trying to change anything just to learn why they aren't used.

Guys, the suggestions thread clearly states that the Russian Armed Forces Faction has at least 1 advisor from the actual Russian Armed Forces, and therefore is non-negotiable as far as armaments.

This thread should be closed IMO.

True, but it's hard for 1-2 military advisors to know absolutely everything about the entire military system, especially if it has changed / is planning to change in recent years, and even more especially because of every single weapon system.

However, rules do say not to post suggestions on factions that have military advisors, so do what you think is best admins =)

This isn't a damn suggestion, this is a question. Hence, why it's in the "feedback" forum.

I'd like for a "military advisor" to answer this question and not be locked like the last thread, please.

No hard feelings, man. I understand that this is a question, I just don't think that the devs can help with this at all. Now i realize my comment was somewhat stupid and hasty. I apologize for that.

It's likely because it's not standard for their military to use it. Yeah it's cool gun but you don't just find it laying around. The m16 is standard for USA so USA mostly has variations of that.

Well the Saiga is heavily based upon the AKM action, no?

Well... then what's the standard Russian Army's shotgun?
According to Wikipedia (I know, Wikipedia) it's the Saiga 12.
But it might be wrong, so is it Saiga 12? If not, what is it?

I'm pretty sure the norinco shotgun and the L96 are placeholders for factions that don't have their own modeled yet.

Yes, the Norinco is placeholder, probably... but just as curiosity I would like to know what shotgun the Russian Army uses...

*Offtopic-The United States has pretty much phased out of M16's and are using almost completely Colt M4's, while new assault rifles are being looked at I think for the future.

There is no such thing as 'standard shotgun of Russian army', there is no any regulation on how and where such weapon could be used. The only troops who operate with such weapons are specnaz and the weapon that is most close to be standard is KS-23 used by MVD.
