My current motherboard is an EVGA Nvidia 680i based unit that I bought back in 06. At the time the 680i was top of the line. However Ive been out of the custom-built PC game ever since then and I know very little about the current range of motherboards, video cards, cpu's etc. Im in the very early stage of planning for my next rig that I hope to build soon and Ive so far decided on an Intel Core i5 for my processor as the i7 is just a little out of my budget. So now I need to decide on a motherboard, and my question is what is the best motherboard chipset to use with an i5? And obviously Im talking about for gaming. Is the P55 the best I can get? Basically Im looking for the 680i of today.

And can anyone recommend any good websites for custom PC noobs like me?
