Welcome to PR
"Project reality, it's all about the teamwork."
PS
You must start BF2 once, log in to your EA account, then you will have a
BF2 folder inside your 'Documents' folder before you start PR for the first time.
The most common causes of CTD running PR in Vista are:
Compatibility mode to xp and run as admin not set in desktop shortcut on Vista PCs
Right click shortcut
choose 'properties' from bottom of list
Click on the Compatibility 'tab'(along the top of the window)
Check 'run as admin' box, select WINDOWS XP(service pack 2
You find your shortcuts 'Target' window by right clicking on the short cut and choosing 'properties' from the bottom of the pop up window.
Inside your 'target' window you should see:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"
to your shortcuts 'target' string add this:
start +widescreen 1 +szx 1024 +szy 768 +restart
Should look like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start +widescreen 1 +szx 1024 +szy 768 +restart
Notice there is one space between pr.exe" and start
If your still CTD check your video file.
Path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\Video
Open with notepad. Her's what mine looks like:
VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 3
VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 3
VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 3
VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 3
VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 3
VideoSettings.setEffectsQuality 3
VideoSettings.setTextureQuality 2
VideoSettings.setTextureFilteringQuality 3
VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768
@60Hz
VideoSettings.setAntialiasing 2Samples
VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 3
Check your settings (shown here in red) are compatible with your monitor. If your using a cheep older LCD chances are it need to run at 60Hz or less.(59Hz)
