precise coordinates

I've searched for Coordinates, grid, keypad, map, precise, etc... and didn't found this suggestion, if it is somehow a re-suggestion, i'm sorry...
So here's my suggestion:
Make 'sub keypads', keypads inside keypads, well... ms paint will explain it:
it would help on giving precise coordinates for mortar strikes, or tell to your team where the enemy cache is... tell an a10 to attack a certain area of the map when you can't laze it... etc
If this idea is stupid, please let me know...

People allready use imaginative "micro" kp, so yeah... more lines would just make the map unreadable...

I can only align with Chiz, unnecessary complicated. The map is mainly used as a roughly defined "guide". I, for my self, never use the map/grid coords for CAS runs. So its good as it is.

If higher resolution is needed you'd normally place a marker on it as SL, the commanders job is then to then relay that to other squads via other attack markers if required. The marker system that is in place is already more accurate if used correctly with a commander.

True, but often do you see a functional commander run a pub team?

I agree, use local landmarks as well as coordinates to ensure teammates understand

The SL places map markers are good enough too

They are precise as they are.. Maybe not so much on 4km maps but its still easy to find a FOB, cache, RP or whatever in a kp sector

Oh, I use sub-keypads anyway. Just imagine another set of number on each small square.

I always use Sub-Keypads when I give coordinates, followed by direction if any.
I'm kind of crossed here though.
This suggestion would make it a lot easier to just churn out enemy coordinates (that are more accurate), BUT, it would also clutter the map screen.
Is there anyway to get the map to draw the sub-keypad lines only when zoomed in the map?
P.S.
I'm fairly sure this is a re suggestion, but I really like the idea. Just needs some fine-tuning.

What use are sub keypads anyway? just a keypad can tell a lot about a position on the map

Yeah maybe it would be kinda unreadable:

It's hard to see people using 'micro kp'
maybe a exemple on the corner of the map would be nice:

If you don't have anything productive to post, don't post anything...

I dont know why people keep whining about stuff like this, everything that isnt brought on a plate must be suggested. You allready have the ultra good compass, and your map is in nice colour, also full of grids. What more could you have...
Why dont guns shoot automatically when pointed at enemies, because you know, now i kinda have to press a button or two to get it going.
Some stuff needs time to be done, slows down the gameplay and makes it more realistic.
Offtopic, i want topographical maps badly.

i think the current system is precise enough. Saying "Enemy Tank, E4 kp 4 upper right corner of the keypad" in Mumble tells it all imo.

You know, I read that first paragraph and I was gonna say "Topographical maps!" but then I was deleting the rest of your post in the quote and I saw that...
+1 for Topographical maps! XDD
About the sub-keypad map... As people said it would become unreadable UNLESS we can make it so they only show up with 3x zoom, then I would agree!

You don't actually need to have the grids on the map to use them...

The reason why i've suggested this is because theres many people who doesn't use this kind of coordinates, and some of them don't even understand what we're saying, maybe an example in the corner of the map would help them as i said before, so everyone would be aware of the 'sub kp' or 'micro kp'

And we can't ALWAYS mark something for the team, we aren't squad leaders all the time etc... and most of the times theres NO comander.
and it could be used to send information for aircrafts, like the A10, if you give him a right coordinate it's easy for the pilot dive and destroy a tank with his 30mm...
