Well, since BF2 is going to be featuring the marines... it's only suitable that they get the proper ship for the job. As such, I suggest the LHA-1 Tarawa Class of aircraft carriers. They only support VTOL aircraft, not large enough or properly equipped for conventional aircraft. But thats not the end of it! The rear contains a "hanger" for storing all of the Marine's nifty amphibious assault craft, as well as the LCAC. All of wich could be put to use on beach assault oriented maps, and even thoughs being ground based could aid from supply and air cover from such a ship. A normal load-out for such a ship entails..
-6 AV-8B Harrier's
-4 AH-1W Super Cobra Attack Helicopters
-12 CH-46 Sea Knight Helicopters
-9 CH-53 Sea Stallion Helicopters
-4 UH-1N Huey Helicopters

Although I did not get #'s on the amphibious vehicles it can carry, among those include the AAVP-7 and the LCAC.
I understand that such #'s are not pheasible for gameplay, and that there is no way all of them would be utalized IRL anyways. But I propose that instead of removing them use static models of the same vehicles stationed below deck to add to the realism. Atmosphere is part of the game, and generaly speaking aircraft carriers carry more than a mere 4-5 things on the main deck.

In one of the screenshots on the BF2 site a Tarawa or newer Wasp class assault carrier is visible in the background. I'll see if I can find it.

You guys play POE? they have the Boxer LHD. It's got a JSF (as they don't have a harrier), a cobra, and 2 .... cant remeber what they are called....green amphibious thingys (they are in the first post). Their LCAC doesnt fix in the wet dock though...

good mod. not realistic per se, but good. hopefully we can just use bf2's model and tweak it instead of building a new one.

The big green machines are AAVP7A1s.

I like the big green things, but theres a new bigger green thing being designed to replace the old big green things.... and so the question is, wich big green thing will PR have?
