reduction in scopes

Suggestion :

Limitation of scoped rifles in a squad.

And

Limitation of scoped AR in a team

Reason :

Currently firefights in PR last all of 4 secs, time to settle with a scoped and get the headshot. But if you reduce the total amount of scopes to say 1 per squad it would greatly improve the amount of time a firefight last. You would need to more of a shoot in general direction whenever ur using Irons or red dots or what not.

Same effect with scoped AR, well go back to a day when you surpressed an area and it would slightly reduce the insta death once AR sees u, But would still kept the AR fear levels high due to the few scoped AR available to the team.

Problem: In RL scopes are standard issue to the vast majority of infantrymen, for example it is very very rare to see a British soldier without some kind of optics. If anything, there should be more scopes.

Remember that irons are just as accurate as scoped weapons, you can just see further with a scope.

Also Iron sights are KING in CQB. But with backup sights coming to PR going ironsights only will loose its edge to scoped rifles with backups.

the only advantage irons will have is they will have a little more field of view than the back up sights, which will take away the bottom half of your screen....

that and youll look more like a bad *** if you have iron sights

And the 3d scopes that are coming which adds the blur around the edges will make you see even less

Reasons why less scoped rifles is bad:
1) IRL scopes being standard issue
2) Scope + Backup sight system Mosquill created

I agree somewhat though that there should be less scoped ARs... that being to make the spawn kit iron sight only.

Why firefights last so short now:

-Deviation doesn't suck *** now.

.... So it's not really the scopes fault... it's the fact that they FIXED SOMETHING PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT.

Why is increasing the length of firefights a good thing? Do you want people to have pointlessly extended firefights like two idiots flailing their arms wildly at each other?

Additionally if your firefights last 4 seconds then someone should have been using cover. You might also consider the limitations imposed by a computer game (mouse dpi/resolution) make it more difficult to aim with ironsights at range than IRL. Scopes help compensate this.

Yeah, I'm rather sure that the FOV will be close to realistic, and you get the added bonus of seeing a blurry person outside of your FOV, about to shoot you.

i'd rather get rid of the grapling hooks(imo it should be with snipers only) than the scopes...at least the scopes are realistic. anyways, back on subject...just wait till PR:Vnam. untill then adjust ur tactics.

Its a matter of tactics not scopes... this thread is invalid. :D

Obviously ironsights have more disadvantages compared to optics In this game, and obviously, it is the case in real life. Thats why many military are moving in that trend.

That unfairness is what makes PR great. It is suppose to be most realistic war simulation in BF2 engine.

If it is so in real life situation, you gotta love that depiction in Project Reality.

these new 3d scopes are gonna be great at CQB almost like irons..and why worry about the blur your supposed to be looking into the scope.

Yeah but : Gameplay>Realism?

I think that there should be atleast ... 2 scopes in squad?

As long as there are many noobs assaulting buildings and going thru thick vegetation with their scopes, I get many easy/funny kills. :P

I think its a good idea for non western factions such as the PLA, Taliban, Militia, and MEC maybe even Russia. But like someone said the UK fields scopes to all infantry and so does the US, Canada, German etc...

Yes, we only gave them scoped weapons for no apparent reason, they're still stuck in the 20th century when it comes to equipment and tactics, so we should remove them, right?
